Town 3 Dorchester 1

The real Billericay turned up today and gave an outstanding performance against a good side who were second in the league before kick off.

With a reserve keeper and Dave Collis at right back, one might have feared the worse but instead we were treated to a fine game of attacking football, which Town deservedly won. New signing Charlie Taylor got the opener on 22 minutes, following a fine sweeping move involving Junior Luke ( who was oustanding today) and Sam Lechmere. Another flowing attack on 65m brought a fine deft finish from Sam Lechmere. 5m later brought the goal of the game, when the ball was moved from right to left and when the cross came in Glen Poole lurking near the edge of the area, brilliantly volleyed home.

Everyone played their socks off today but special mention must go to Messrs Luke, Lechmere and Poole, who were at the centre of all our fine attacking play. Dorchester's consolation came in the closing minutes but it was controversial as the linesman had raised his flag before it went in and this might have put off our defence. It was a shame as they deserved a clean sheet.

Well done Craig and the boys COYB

And it was sweet revenge for a particularly bad day on 9th November 1996 when Dorchester came to New Lodge for an FA Trophy tie and whopped us 4-0 - I think all the goals were in the first half too ! Yes, I did check my records after Gary mentioned in the programme that it was their first ever visit to our "hallowed turf" - thought not ;-)

Great win & good debut performances from both our new signings. Shame about the Dorchester goal; thought we deserved a clean sheet, but the far side lino had been pretty average all match. Our third was pure class.

Another opportunity on tuesday for the new boys to get some match time.

Back up to mid-table (barring any Truro adjustment).

Vastly improved performance and 3-1 didn't do us justice. All 3 goals were excellent. A timely save from Bonnard in the second half but even if they had scored we probably would've had too much for them. Superb from Junior again and good to see the Wild man have a better game. Get a consistent run going, then we'll be heading towards the play-offs!

Very very happy with yesterday! The performance and attitude was spot on and the energy we played with was very nice to see. Think we look a much better side when we play with two up top. We need to make our home games count this season and the way I see it is if we gain anything away from home then it's a bonus!

Hopefully yesterday has made the players realise that we can perform to the level to keep us in this league. We have to take that on now and build on it.

Good to see Taylor and Osborn click straight away looks like a partnership that could produce goals for us. Another plus was craig Edward Jnr getting through the 90 minutes albeit maybe tired in the last 20, personally think he and poole in the centre of the park gives us a good balance.

On to tuesday keep the same 11 without a game at present Saturday to get some momentum built up again!

Good game, happy that we are back to playing the way we started off the season, keep this up and we'll have nothing much to worry about...
