We have a problem in my opinion but a nice one...

Our team and squad was pretty much set-up to play 5-3-2 with wingbacks. Now we have a nice problem in the fact Jake Parsons has come in and is a right-winger - not a wingback, or second striker as he's been tried since he's been here, and today when he was moved into his natural position of right-wing and he was excellent and we saw the best of him.

Playing 4-4-2 though means one of the centre backs has to move to a full-back position, which today was Wooz (It was Browney away at Northwood last season) and despite him being more than good enough to play there he's a superb centre-back and i'm sure Woozley wants to play there rather than left-back.

Also i'm not conviced by the left-side of midfield if we do play 4-4-2. For me Swifty is now a central midfielder. I know he started out as a left-winger and Bateman plays him there sometimes as well as left-back, but his best position for me is easily now central midfield where he's far more influentual, added to the fact from what i've seen Rhone and Murphy they are both full-backs and not left-wingers, so I think they fight it out between them for that position of left-back.

So, do we need a left-winger to join the squad if we play 4-4-2? If it's 5-3-2, what do you do with Jake, play him as a wing back, or central midfield which is not his position really?

A bit of a headache for the manager!

surely 4-4-2

Fraser....... Brown....... NBH.......... Wooz

Parsons.... Burgess .....Swift ........Murphy/Rhone

...............Burnell .............Smith

with the ball a 4-4-2 with fraser supporting now and then. and 5-3-2 without the ball with murphy/rhone dropping back.

Only thing I'd disagree with in that team SRJ is that Deeney, Logie or Perkins would have to partner Burgess or Swift, far too attack minded otherwise and would leave us exposed!

What has happened with Steve Sinclair is he still at the club.

The game against Gosport i would bring Sean Sonner back into the team even though Smith and Burnell are really playing well together Sean would give the Gosport defence something different to think about and won't give them a minutes rest with his hustling and bustling as long as he keeps his cool and controls his temper he could be the difference between winning and losing in the Trophy there players were getting so bored with the ease in which they were winning the game with 25 minutes still to play they kept asking the bench how much longer ws left as they could'nt wait to get in the BAR for a drink.

The more I hear about the Trophy game the more it sounds like a stroll in the park for Gosport.

A stroll in the park requires some effort. Gosport didn't have to expend any effort to beat us in the trophy. I expect our players to put that right next weekend.
