Bad day for us today losing 3-1 to Epsom and ewell , went 1 up early doors Chris smith then Epsom got 2 back fair play to them defended well we could of been out there all night and wouldn't have scored !!

South Park 1-3 Epsom & Ewell

Missed our goal as was watching the end of a 5-4 thriller AET for the 3rd's (with Joe Mc's son scoring a hattrick). E's eqaulised from a penalty won by Jarman (that boy dont stop running, was impressed), looked outside the area from where i was standing 70 yards away ;) . Park then huffed and puffed but E's but line was made of bricks and seems happy to hit Park on the break, which worked as a long ball and a mix up from Wilson & Wazza gifted them a goal (think it was Hough). Ref seemed to like his whistle, which angered both sets of players and management which ended up Park's Ass Manager (Max Power) sent off, which cheered me up.

Didn't watch the 2nd half as a few beers was more appealing, heard it was much the same, Park pressing E's sticking the there game plan and worked well as they added a 3rd, another error for the goal which Milesy took blame for (he's a honest chap).

Park's bogey side took all 3 points and another 3-1 win to add to the two from last year! Oh well Met Police next week, just glad its not Epsom.

Overall, I thought a draw would probably have been fair but when you fail to take the chances we did first half you‘re always likely to.struggle. Incidentally, did you think the saved pen was a pen? I chatted to a few of your lads afterwards and couldn‘t find anyone from either side who thought it was!

Agreed you flew out the blocks first 20 and could have been 3 up but once game settled down I thought we always looked likely to win. 2nd penalty could have been given as an indirect free kick for obstruction! Very good attitude amongst your team and I'm sure you will end up top 8

Another good result for Epsom yesterday,we rode our luck at times against a quality side but we worked hard and took our chances when they came,South Park will play worse than that this season and still win games at this level, good luck next week in the FA cup against the Police

Despite a below par performance, Wood moved into the second round of the FA Vase with a 2-1 win at Sussex league Lingfield.

The pitch was quite heavy and the grass a little long on a chilly day at Godstone Road and there was talk of a seven day approach for the guy who wrote the teams up on the board very neatly.

It was clear that the game would be tough for both sides but it was the home side who settled the better although Gareth Graham was cautioned for a late challenge on Helge Orome. Harry Sintim was in on goal but fired wide and Daryl Coleman was harshly cautioned for a supposed foul. Dan Burnett, playing against his old club and Dan Hughes combined well to clear a dangerous situation. Burnett's opposite number, Dan O'Hara claimed any high balls and not surprisingly as he stands at 6 feet and 10 inches! Lee Sidwell replaced Howell and the home side took the lead on 36 minutes. A Wood free kick was easily claimed and quickly released by O'Hara. Gallagher cut in from the right and his shot was parried out to Joe Robinson who tapped home unchallenged.

The first half lacked much quality and Wood need to up their tempo if they are to get back into the game.

This they did as Turner fired wide and Chris Gregson produced a save from his spin and drive. Graham, looking in command in midfield, was replaced and the comment of the day came from the Lingfield manager “you are standing there like a load of mackerels”!

Rob McCarry and Joe Mead replaced Orome and Elijah Ogunseye and Wood, immediatley, looked better balanced. Scott Elgar and Sintim received yellow cards as the refereeing decisions continued to frustrate the home crowd. Turner had a shot tipped over the bar and Burnett made a decent save but the game remained rather dull. However, on eighty minutes, Wood were level when a push on Gregson allowed Turner to slot home a penalty kick. Dre Grobler was booked for Wood and Gregson forced a save as the game headed for extra time. In the second minute of stoppage time Turner burst through on the left of the area and with O'Hara committed, he neatly tucked the ball away to seal an unlikely, but welcome win. Troy Abbey was booked for delaying a re-start and Wood man of the match, Phil Frodsham did well to keep a scramble out and Joe Mead blocked on the line. Lee Sidwell was yellow carded as the final whistle sounded. The 2nd round draw is on Monday morning.

Lloyd nice to see you post when your winning,Taylor Smith,One of your Youth Players no doubt, shame he never played against Molesey and Wembley, may of been a different result.

He's been injured for 5 weeks, 1st game back. Only posted because no one else put result up. I haven't been to a game in a while so that was all the info I had. Don't know what happen at wembley apart from Davers played if that's any info for you.

Thanks. They‘re a good group of young lads and we‘re trying to get them to have the right approach. Its a little hit and miss at the moment but we‘ll get them there I think. Although I‘d put my house on it not being a pen if we had a replay ;-)

Nice to put a face to another posters name, Newby. Thanks from me and 'Er Indoors' for the bevvy.

The world famous, (Well, Surrey and Sussex famous), camera man was also present. The enigmatic TRS, but he'd disappeared by the time you got into the bar.

He didn't have his camera with him, Thank Gawd !!

About fair Molly, and yes Hough got all three for us. I wouldn't say that the third goal was an error though, as you guys were obviously pushing forward, and we hit on the break. Hough still had a lot to do, but did it superbly. Pictures on our web site show the goal really well.

You're right about Jarman too, a whole hearted player that frequently takes on players bigger than himself and just never stops. We have a lot of time for players like that at Epsom.

Our back four and the guys in front of them defended excellently, and to be fair, other than in two games this season v Egham and Bedfont Sports, we have looked very solid. Our Manager has a tricky one v Hanworth Villa on Saturday though as one of our back four is suspended.

Our problem this year in my opinion has been service to the front guys. Everyone who knows this level of football knows that Jarman, Hough, Marvell and Burns all know where the net is. Say it quietly, but we are one good midfielder away from being a top three side right now. Obviously we'll know a lot more after our next five matches against Hanworth, Colliers Wood, Ash, Egham and Guernsey!

you were very generous Newby, thank you.

TRS would have had more fun with your comments than your passing! some quality stuff when you were near enough to be heard over at the bar side of the ground, nice to hear your rapport with your supporters and the gentle baiting of the men in black!

i love the banter that football brings whoever it may be from at the end of the day im there to enjoy myself although it doesnt always go to plan ;) i wear my heart on my sleeve!

no probs i like to get anyone i meet a drink hope yourll be there next time visit

Oh it was an error....should've stood him up on the sideline rather than lunging in. Fair play though, thought your keeper, barring the one he dropped for our goal, was superb. Definitely look an improved side to last year. Where has the young kid gone who scored a worldy against us last season? Cottee?
