Hornchurch 1 Paulton 0

Recommended Posts

Another strong performance this afternoon with our only goal coming from the spot (west pen)

and at one stage it looked like it was just not happening for us as they must of had 4 shots of the line....vinnie hitting the crossbar and douglas having a goal disallowed !!

Well done lads !

bring on the Darlington

No - as I understand it - new rules mean that games cannot switched to the opposition.

This was following the Arsenal/ fanborough fiasco of last season.

The game will I am sure be played at the Stadium, unless Police advice differently.

As is usual in these situations, believe no one, or any rumours, until official statements are made by the club.

Well done you Urchins.

I would imagine it would be a capacity crowd because Darlo will bring a couple of thousand. What is your capacity? Any chance of you putting up temporary seating, etc, or is the ground big enough?

thanks matt...

yeah we can put up scaffolded stands behind the goals and get maybe 4/5000 in the stadium....

current capacity is 3600 and the temp stands might get us 5000...either way we'll play at home and we'll smack theur arses and send 'em home...

great day...history made and a great atmosphere....

musty have been 300 in the bar for the draw....

brilliant...absolutely brilliant....

a special mention to Paulton by the way...

it was important to them as well and they fought like tigers...bless 'em...great bunch of lads.....

urchins for the cup...

Totally agree Uncle. Great atmosphere especially in the bar afterwards, was packed to the rafters. As a neutral it was great to experience the excitement and tension of a 4th QR tie when so much is at stake. The FA Cup is a special ocassion so enjoy the First Round because you never know when you'll next have a big game.

Good luck against Darlo and maybe see you in the next round!

Good luck in the next round and you were a very strong side, but the penalty decision was very dodgy as the player that was alledgedly brought down addmitted afterwards and what about the Paulton disallowed goal before that decision for "Offside" Matty was at least 3 yards on side I think you definatley had two of the local officials on your side today, They certainly did not relish a visit to the west Country on Monday Night . The throwing of a punch by your number 7 would have definatley been a RED Card in this part of the world, There that is cup football and we live to fight another day next season and we thoroughly enjoyed are visit to Essex and the hospitaity shown by all at Hornchurch Football Club I hope you carry the non eague flag foward in the next round.

agreed about the penalty Bobby...it was harsh (didn't westie hit it well)....although I did think that your 'goal' was offside...the ref was aweful and John Martin got sent off second time around so justice was done after he escaped the red for the punch...(mind you it was a bad tackle)....

all in all we could and should have had the game won before half time...three great saves by your young keeper...(we might have to nick him off you) ...three goal line clearances and two headers off the bar...

mind you...the worst half time score for us was 0-0 and we knew that the second half was going to be tough and so it proved...

as you say...a real FA cup tie and although we deserved to go thru your guys were terrific right until the end...

great bunch of players officials and fans and well done...hopefully get down to you for a preseason or something....

goog luck...

Agreed the penalty was taken well by Weste and we were beginning to doubt our keeper but as you say he pulled off some great saves yesterday to keep us in the game. The 2 leagues difference began to show in the latter half of the second half and we did notice that your manager was getting rather upset during them first half, when it seemed to be going to plan.

I was standing near George Borg in the second half and have to admit it was quite entertaining!
