dflman
Radio Kent have mentioned Margate in their sports bulletins today - they even used the words Hartsdown Park and Saturday in the same sentence- must be something to do with non league day I suppose. Come on boys give Lewes a good thrashing just for us so we can get on the phone to them on Monday and ask for more mentions in the future instead of studiously ignoring us
Wellsie
The best place to be is of course Harstdown Park, followed (a distant second) by the club's website! In fairness to Radio Kent, they have a limited budget and 2 Conference Prem sides and 4 Conference South clubs, but I'll take the coverage tomorrow even if it is just because (my assumption) they have the Charlton slot free! dflman
Understand that they have a limited budget, after all someone has to pay for their massive move to an industrial estate in Salford but they rarely even mention that Margate have a game scheduled when listing fixtures in their daytime sports bulletins although they can say the words Folkestone Invicta and Hythe Town easily enough. I have contacted Matt Davison many times to ask why and not received any reply that answers the question. Charlton is not in Kent - it is South East London and yes the demographics of people moving out from the city might mean some supporters from the old days are in Thanet - so what ?. michael
similarly-to be fair to RK-on my rare saturday forays to kent-i have RK on from 5pm-and whilst understandably the prioritise Ebbsfleet and dartford (used to be margate 8 years ago when we were in conference ),they do give Margate reasonable coverasge-as indeed they do ryman south ,kent league etc. I can only comment on what i hear on a saturday-but think it is pretty good. Hardly Radio kents fault that Margate have dropped down the pyramid !! Maybe the solution is for margate to get back to conference national ? dflman
Not referring to after matches on a Saturdays when it would be very strange if they didn't report scores. I meant during the day of a match when a mention just might be a reminder that there's a game on and a few more through the gate possibly. They seem to give the nod to others ok regardless of which league and like I said Charlton is not in Kent so use that space for talking about Kent sides including us. Maybe on the day of our home games a few people should call 08459 811111 to remind them - let's try that next Tuesday - I'll put a thread on in the morning
michael
RK did broadcast a post match interview with CK AND WHILST THEY HAD SIMILAR WITH dAISH AND BURMAN-THEY DID BY-PASS THE CONF SOUTH kENT MANAGERS IN FAVOUR OF ck. (sorry for caps) Interesting interview in so far as 50% of it was taken up with RK fishing for info on Kwesi appiah-with an undoubted hidden agenda of wondering whether he was back on his way to HDP. CK firmly advised them that KA was back at selhurst park pushing to get into their squad-and there was no chance until hell burns (not his choice of words) over of kwesi coming back to Margate
