I think there are quite a few ex-southend fans who have started to follow Canvey.

 

A couple of these "Tossers" even wrote to the Evening Echo stating the fact they were now watching Canvey.

 

Sorry, but whoever you support it must be through thick or thin. If Canvey were to go through a poor patch then these "floaters" would clear off somewhere else.

 

SUFC does not need fans like that so you are welcome to them.

 

By the way how do you intend to increase your fan base to a decent size should Conference status be reached. You could not survive on 500 fans there.

new ground near waterside farm roundabout should widen the catchment area into benfleet and to people who can get to benfleet station..

Any Southend fan that lives on Canvey, (I know of one or two) probably deserves to be shot for treason. Especially in the last 5-8 seasons when Southend have been on the decline and Canvey have been on the up. There is no excuse to live on Canvey and not support the Marsh Rats, (unless you've been banned for publicising the Club or something <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />).

Benfleet could soon become the new Mersyside, (football wise). What with fans of the Marsh Rats & the Kosovans both living just doors apart.

I agree, I know of a number of fans, who know follow canvey, primarily because they like to watch a winning side as opposed to supporting a side through thick and thin, If they followed Man U they would slagged off for it.

 

I would be interested to see the Canvey attendances when they finally reach a level where kings money does not mean a weekly advantage, I mean, where were all these fans before he put his hands in his pocket ?
