Chris1
I was very disappointed with tonight's performance. For one thing, why did we start without a centre forward, when he was apparently fit enough to play the second half? Also why bring him on just as we are defending a corner? And why was Long taken off, when he seemed like the only player able to penetrate the defence. Quite honestly I thought the substitutions were badly timed and wrong, upset the balance of the team, and gave confidence to the opposition. Not to mention giving them two free shots at goal within two minutes.

Disagree with the Long part as he looked a shade of his normal self and seemed to be a couple of yards off the pace, as for the Subs only CK knows what is happening with his players minds and bodies but I personally think Bodkin was the natural sub for Rhodes. Cookie
Start with players that are IN form. Use players with flair & who can "make something happen". Do NOT play out-of-form players to try and prove a point.
michael
to much 'flair' on display imo cookie. For me-take a more pragmatic approach-big ,bold and ugly brutes s what gets you out of this league. flair is fine-but what do those flair players do for the remaining 89 minutes they are on the pitch ? Cookie
The same "possibly" as those without the flair Michael. At least those wih flair & the ability to change a game give us an outside chance of getting something from the game if it is they who are on the pitch. michael
As i posted-what do they do for the other 89 minutes. You can just about get by with one 'flair' player-Long has enough of that for me-and is a very good player. Then be practical/play the percentages and bully your way to a victory-. Is it any coincidence that is how hornchurch, braintree and billericay have all recently played and consequently been promoted
