AncientBlue
Nice of you to post the video, Gary . . . but I have no desire whatsoever to watch our teams rubbish performance again. It was shades of the last six or so awful games of last season . . . and we've only barely started this season yet. Things have to be better, I don't think in all my years I've seen so many bitterly disappointed fans at a Margate FC game.
Wellsie
Actually, while I wouldn't defend the overall performance, I think the video shows that even within that, we actually created the better opportunities (unless the Slough edit has missed out the chances they created), which was my sense after the game. I use the word "opportunities" becase we didnt really turn those into enough decent chances. For what it's worth, I felt worse about this defeat than the Maindstone one. The Stones looked good for most of the match. With due respect to Slough, they were not in the same class as Maidstone - and for me, that's what has made this result tough to take. I dare say someone from Slough would consider this as sour grapes, but I think we played poorly, had more of the ball, more of the opportunities and lost the game. Someone else summarised it by saying, Slough didn't, we lost it - I tend to agree.
