dflman
If the manager is not interested in the FA Trophy or the FA Cup (the greatest cup competition in the world) why does the club bother to enter. I thought last week against Maidstone was a one off poor game but no - todays tactics bear no scrutiny at all as there were none. Bodkin got about 8 minutes if that and as for hoofing it against the biggest defender I have ever seen here ? Why was Tuesday's team not put out with the instructions to repeat the performance ? SteveB
I think to say CK isn't interested in the cups is harsh but we were particularly poor today. Against Maidstone we were a bit unlucky but today we never looked like we were going to score. Their number 4 swallowed up everything in the box but will still pumped it in. When we did try to play it into the box, we found a big and resolute backlline who we could not work out how to get past. I do agree that Bodkin should have had a longer run. Surely he would have been the ideal replacement when Stubbs went off? On the plus side, good cup runs would have caused a fixture pile-up that may have hampered our promotion charge! Cookie
WHAT WAS THAT!!! An Abysmal performance all round, to say the least. If we continue like this in the league you can forget any honours there. Am Holding back on any further comments...for now. Am counting to 10,no 200,000 before I air anymore of my views. MOTM must have been picked out of the hat surely & thats how bad it was. Ball gets it though for gifting them their goal. :521:

Jab_n17
i to thought the Maidstone game was a 'one off' but wow how wrong was I, today was up there with the the worst performance at home from a Margate team team in recent years. Be very interersting to see how Tuesday night goes now after this performance

Be very interersting to see how Tuesday night goes now after this performance And you think there will be supporters going to tuesday nights game after todays debarcle...... I think not. The under 16s would have played better today than the first team and the thing that gauls me the most is they really dont seem to care a hoot. Today we had home advantage and the players didnt seem to live up to their high position not only in the league but to lose to a crappy team such as Slough is doing my nut in - £7500 down the drain because either the manager under-estimated the opposition or we have been extemely lucky this season to be in the heady position we are in now.. Dis-gruntled supporter is now thinking how the hell can we (as a team) go forward as on todays display the only way is down.................. not appy

Bernie Gogan
It's good to know we're a crappy team, what does that make you? Maybe you are in a false position at the top of the league..........

Gringo
Not surprised at the Slough fans reaction! To call them crap, they were far from that. They were well organised at the back and obviously aware of our tendency to hoof and hope. Shame because the few moments we keep it on the floor passing quickly we look good. Good luck to Slough for the rest of the season from a not so bitter Gate fan.
Tesco Bazza
Poor poor poor, shocking display that showed no real heart or passion good luck to slough they wanted it more. Remember feeling like this last year when we went out to bromley at home. We say concentrate on the league I hope we can and these last couple of cup defeats don't spill into the league. Anyway ramsgate lost at home to whitstable, with the oysters swelling there average attendance!
Cookie
hope who ever does the 'Man of the Match' thread gives it a miss for todays game...... Alan asked me to do these whilst he is away and I fully intend NOT to do a MOTM for this game.Would be hard to find a winner I think. If anyone else wishes to set one up thats up to them but I won't be doing so.
Jab_n17
think saying Slough were 'crappy' was a bit harsh, very harsh in fact.....bottom line is they got the £7000 plus prize money plus into the next round with scope to go further, so like others have said all the best to them in the next round. Oh and if you want to unload your number 4 send him here please not pretty but effective just what's wanted in Non League football
margateshot
So we can concentrate on the league now? On the last two performances I very much doubt we have the squad to do that.
blue balls
A squad that will surely be trimmed now we have had our traditional early cup exits and missed out on desperately needed prize money!! (unless our directors have got extraordinarily deep pockets)How much of the Kwesi transfer dosh is left as we will be nowhere near the attendance figures required to keep this squad together. DEREK
Any apologies forthcomeing from the manager for this totally inept performance? I understand that players should do better but the tactics were all wrong, the team selection was wrong, the substitutions were wrong, worst perfomance of the season so come on CK shape up before many more people decide to keep thier £10 and spend it elswhere. michael
bitterly disappointed-not there so can't specifically comment. Have seen 3 league games though-and despite the league position-did feel it flattered us somewhat. Need to play a lot better in the league to maintain a top 5 spot. sticking with my prediction of 8th-and happy with that as i feel the club is not ready for conf south for at least one more season. Just fear that crowds will now go down to 250-and as ohers post-will be a bit of culling of the squad as the financial cost of losing on saturday takes its toll.
