Come on you Towners .
OldTowner
Erm, 3 - 0 win at Kettering was not a bad result on Saturday me thinks.
Steph
Kettering lost 2-1 to Cambridge City only two weeks ago. They haven't won for 4 games!
thecoldend
and Kettering manager John Beck was escorted by club officials out of the stadium prior to the game - http://www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/kettering-town/ladak-confirms-beck-s-position-is-under-discussion-as-poppies-fight-for-survival-1-4321764 can't see them lasting the season the way it's going. no game against Concord is ever easy. their previous game prior to Kettering was a narrow FA Cup replay at Welling United. Although saying that we owe them a defeat and we got two chances to do that now!!!
OldTowner
Tuesday and a Saturday in consecutive games is never a good idea. Think we should re-arrange the 23rd October game.
Steve Newing
Don't think you can just re arrange a league game because you draw them in the cup. Seems to happen a lot just a quirk of fate. Even in the Premier league they don't allow it

thecoldend
Continuing on the Kettering theme - They can't even field a side at tonight's scheduled game against Leamington and only had ten men on Saturday. BBC article here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19883178 It's not looking good for them is it?? The 1989/90 conference (last one played in by the old Enfield FC) contained Darlington, (new club formed 2012 as Darlington 1883) Runcorn,(new club Runcorn Linnets formed in 2006) Merthyr Tydfil, (new club Merthyr Town formed 2010) Telford United, (new club AFC Telford United formed 2004) Fisher Athletic, (new club Fisher FC formed 2009) Farnborough Town and (new club Farnborough FC formed 2007) Enfield FC (finished in 2007 - Town formed 2001, 1893 formed 2007) + Boston United (relegated from the Conference in 2007 due to financial problems), + Welling United (issued with winding up order in 2010 and dedcuted points) Now Kettering Town and Northwich Vics are on the verge as well. Shows how difficult it is running a non-league club is especially at the top level.....Just by chucking money at a club has proven it doesn't work time and time again. Enfield United
Spot on Cold End, Our gradual integration at Ryman Prem within budget, a good team spirit and a group of players who play for the shirt far outweighs short term glory and money chasing wannabee's.
