spy
RIP Kendo I was lucky enough to enjoy many fine moments with him. Winning the league with him for the Wars and that unforgettable trip to AFC Wallingford being the highlights plus a fabulous 5 days in Japan in 2002 for the England v Argy game. I've lost count of the amount of times we reduced each other to tears with a quick one liner. From the moment we met on the sideline at Wars v Holmesdale U14s back in 2001 we clicked and it was him who got me involved at Wars as reserve team boss when Lorne took over the ones. I love the man deeply, a great great friend, husband, father and only recently grandfather to Helen, Dan, Neil and Kellie When Helen gave me the news this morning I was devastated, we knew it was going to happen but that didn't lessen the shock. Helen's hoping to have the funeral next week, when she tells me the details I wil ask her if she would like me to post details here. Thanks for the kind comments that are posted here and the posts that will follow no doubt We have lost a non league Icon and the greatest coach I've seen at this level

Brogues
Sad, sad news, I knew Ken was ill but wasn't aware this was on the horizon. My experience of Ken was usually on the opposition and the other end of training pitch working with the Warlingham team whilst we trained for Farleigh and it always struck me that he was a perfect coach who commanded the respect of all the players like no-one else I've ever seen and also managed to keep the training fun and install an exuberance into the players even when working them hard. As Sean in an earlier post,I also played in the league rep side for Ken and Graeme and saw first hand what I had witnessed previously from afar, chaging room was a good place to be even though full of players you only ever played against. Top man who I aways had the utmost respect for and always enjoyed catching up with him. Massive loss to local football.
antw26
Terrible news. Having played for Ken at Warlingham & Holmesdale he was one of the most likeable and knowledgeable gentlemen in the game. It was a true honour to know him. He will be a massive miss to everyone that knew him. Banter exceptional, his programme notes for the surrey cup final under lorne benham were hilarious. RIP Kendo.
