Town 3 Hornchurch 1

Town progressed to the next round of the FA Cup on the back of an excellent team performance.

Apart from two short spells, they dominated the game and could have had six - Urchins were lucky to get the one, after being gifted pocession in added time.

Osborn scored the first after about 20 minutes, firing home a right wing cross. Lechmere controlled a dropping ball to fire home after about 65m and scored again following an indirect free kick on 85m.

I'll let others decide MOM but the whole team worked their socks off and gave us a fine display of attacking football.

The crowd of 500 was disappointing, but as predicted Hornchurch didn't bring many with them. ( Ah yes, the Hammers were at home )

A fine performance from us and a deserved win. The recent games against The Urchins have been very close but this was a comprehensive win.

MoTM for me Lechmere but a strong performance all round. As for Anderson I thought he had a solid game and The Urchins fans really need to move on. Smith apart they looked pretty ordinary.

Hoping for another home draw next round. Well done lads!

Come on you Blues!!

they need look no further than their own bench for someone to blame for such a collection of cock up's . As the Shoe Army sang they are just a small club in romford. and diving more & more like Tunbridge every game.

3 - 1 To the Ricky Boy's

Good result, and i think we deservedly progress to the next round. Our first goal was an absolute shocker for the ref, such a clear foul by I'anson and we were all just waiting for the free kick to be given, which it never was. Good to remember moments like those when we inevitably get f**ked by a ref later in the season.

Having said that I thought we thoroughly merited the win, without ever looking at our best. Two quality finishes from Lechmere, and what a player he is looking

Good to see the AFCH fans hadn't lost their sense of humour, with their chants of, ''Is that all you get at home??''

Onwards and upwards, £4.5k in the kitty, and the draw for 3QR on Monday

Well it's always enjoyable beating them, it's been a while, so yesterday has made it a little more special!

Didn't feel we was at the races until we scored the second goal, then we had a few good spells as they tried to get back into the game.

Lechmere has been outstanding this season, we've found his best position now, also it's nice to see Osborn notch again, keeps his confidence going.

I thought a free kick was going to be given before our first goal but it wasn't and a great goal to start off. There were many occasions I thought the ref made mistakes but he was consistent which did not affect the result. There have been times when we have had ref that gave against us and never for us. WE WON and that is it, well played by the whole team. MOTM Sam, he was all over the park and full of running and 2 great goals. DIdn't think it would be a great crowd but was worse, they have lost so much support.

Our first goal was perfectly legitimate as shown on the video highlights on the Upminster site. The ball was cleanly won in the build up, with no real protest from the Upminster players. Well done the referee.

Hilarious report

http://www.nonleague...3-hornchurch-1/

Fictional of course :)

I don't find it funny - it's tragic and might well be written by a member of the travelling supporters - it's why I gave up buying this rag some years ago.

For the record, I was at the corner, when the indirect kick was awarded. It was a deliberate back pass, which Junior Luke chased down but at no time did he touch the ball. The Keeper was trying to con the referee, who got the decision spot on.

On the fouls front, it was a local derby and no worse than average. Before the incident with Wild, Curley was warned frequently by the referee, not only for fouls but also for verbals - had he been carded earlier, the flashpoint over the nasty foul wouldn't have arisen. This incident apart, there were few problems and the report gives a totally wrong slant on the game.

Yep, apologies to Luke, I was certain it was a foul from where I was stood but looking at the vid he does seem to take the ball. Junior definitely didn't touch the ball for the passback (I think!)

It wasn't the report from the Non League Paper it was the report from the Upminster website.

A comfortable win in the end, I was still nervous at 2-0 up though, so was pleased to see the third go in.

I too though there was a foul for our first, but as Jim pointed out, the ref was spot on! There was some good perfomances Saturday, the best being our two Big'uns and the little'un. Dale also had a positive assured game. A mention for Craig as well as (yet again) he got it spot on tacticaly, We were the better side.

So its on to Cambridge...a decent draw for us, and new ground for me

Happy days.
