WESTFIELD ineligible player

I read on the website that he featured in Westfield reserves last week, so it would be them that get the hit of any points I guess.

Not sure what rule 12D is, but I hear that some people who left Knappers last season owed money, so possible that for not settling fines?

The player was sine died and informed us he had played for his previous club north greenford

No list had been circulated so how were we to know.

Of course his previous club knaphill were fully aware of this and also that we had signed him. They did not reveal this to us despite both secretarys being in regular contact.

I know it's a bit late now,but the county fa websites show all banned players. The format is poor though and requires a search by each player individually and requires each players date of birth.

Might be worth confirming why he was banned as well. Players can only be put on suspension if they owe fines for red/yellow cards. Club debts (ie signing on/match fees/clubwear) are not valid reasons for players to be suspended. These debts are obviously extremely annoying from a club perspective though.

Nigel,

Did you ask the player in question directly about any suspensions/bans that he was facing?

Bob,

A fair point, but there are oversights in any industry. I doubt that Westfield meant any wrong by doing it, unlike one club I know that let a sine-died player move on under a false name.

Clubs are bitter that players leave so rule 12 them over £5 stupid coz there stopping the player from playing that is not in Westfields case though

If a club reports a player to their county FA for ANY outstanding football debts incurred by the club then the county has the right to suspend said player from all football until the debts are settled.

This wouldn't include things like a club membership fee but would include subs because these pay for pitch hire, kit, etc., and are, therefore, an incurred cost.

And we're talking about standardised Rule 19 as rule 12 normally relates to submission of results sheets !

Ah, but Smudge dear fellow me lad...

When I am a mere simpleton who knows little about the league according to certain people, how the Dahl's Chickens would I have known?

I plead not guilty and the fifth.

this is always what i thought as well. And while you would expect another club to have the common courtesy to inform you of any bans it is the clubs own responsibilty to check.

So you're calling me your protege? I am touched :)

As The New Scientist will tell you, hot air has a number of good uses.

Anyway, back on track with the OP - if it is an admin error then unfortunately rules are rules. I feel for Westfield, but I am sure they'll recover from this minor set back.
