They're fired up!

Well in the first half I counted 57 standing behind the goal and there must have been at least another 25-30 elsewhere and Frankie & Thomas had still not turned up.

I had a quick head count and counted about 70 Margate fans behind the goal and there were abbout 15 of us on the terrace. There were aslo some in the stand. I would reckon on about 90 Margate fans. I think we have been done by about 50 on the attendance as I thought there were about 180 there.

As for their ground I didn't think it was that bad, I've been to worse. I would think with the terrace and stand they have it would make for a good atmosphere if they had a big crowd. I think the difference between clubs like Aveley and us is the amount of volunteers that we get during the closed season. The ground needed a bit of painting done and it would look a lot better. Why on earth the bar is set up like it is though baffles me. You paid at the turnstiles and promptly turned around and walked back out again!!! It doesn't allow for the odd supporter to go and get a drink. It also prevents the less hardy people going into the bar on a cold night to watch the match from there. A smile or two from the staff wouldn't go amiss either. Its funny how they say we are unfriendly on their forum when most fans who come to Hartsdown say the opposite.

You have to consider that some of the crowd will be guest (non payers) such as friends/family of footballers, officials etc, these people are not included in the calculations for attendances, i believe its only paying punters and season ticket holders who are considered in the figures.

Agree bar staff were very offish, serving flat guiness ( that MFC Guiness look great), and grumbling while'st doing it. food was sparse and what there was was pretty awful.

Loos were not working so had to go back to club house, and I still don't know if I won the 50/50 or not as it was mentioned once when i was in the loo in the clubhouse.

Can anyone give a clear explantion on rules for guests attending cup competitions,I thought freebees had to be regulated not just given out to anybody.

I dont know who you are but this question should be directed at the club not on an unofficial forum.

I actually think it is quite a good & legitimate question.

After all why all the secrecy over who gets in for nothing.

When Ken Bates took over a bankcrupt Chelsea the first thing he did was cut back on complementary tickets when he found out how many people did not pay.

However, as Pagey says that turnstile is for us season ticket holders as well for league matches only as we have to pay for all cup and friendly matches.

Ok sponsors are allowed up to 10 people I believe. Then there are press and also, I believe, each player are allowed guests.

No secrecy Jim , I just thought this was a question for the club not forum members.

Pagey is quite correct there are Ryman passes for each club which are passed out every season too.
