Aveley football club what a dump I hope we go up there sat and smash them! More £ banked, to get us were we belong in the conference. I'm glad they have found there level but we are a sleeping giant up gate

The thing that I find strange is that no-one suggested Hartsdown is a palacial environment. Aveley may be a cr*phole but no-one has suggested Margate is any different. This is usual football banter and fans opinion will always be to criticise other grounds over theirs (well, in most cases). If an Aveley supporter were to have said the same thing about Hartsdown, someone on here would have got defensive about it, but it does not mean the comments weren't justified!

 

The trouble is, now we have got Margate supporters winding up their Officials on the Aveley forum by mentioning spelling errors and a Ramsgate supporter on here giving it the sleeping giant nonsense. This is going to get them more fired-up and make the potential banana skin a little bit more slippery.

It will be nothing less than a THEATRE OF HATE with people assaulting each other with copies of the Non-League Directory and chants like 'the concrete on our terracing is of a higher standard than yours'.

 

The good news is that I am likely to be in Aveley from 4.30am onwards so will be able to deploy my usual tact, charm and diplomacy.

This is an FA cup match not a beauty competion for the venue.

 

Most /all clubs run with limited resouces these days with no budget for beautification.

 

Let the TEAM do the talking and enjoy the game.

Spot on Dave, most grounds in Non League are a bit ropey but surely that is the beauty of the non league game?

 

I have only been up to Avely once but found the club very friendly and inviting, and of course I witnessed Clokeys superb free kick goal from his own half which he had already said to their bench he was going to do as the keeper was off his line.

Let's let these essex boys know we have been here, no doubt we will out number them by quite a few let's bulldozer through them get a result. I'll bring some grass seed to throw on there pitch it might help them out with out the £4500 they will be missing out on. Up the gate

Good that you have that confidence in us getting a result but it is an FA Cup match and minnows haven't done us any favours in the recent past. I think you're counting too many chickens and assuming too much.On our best form its highly possible we will come up trumps but as I said (where have I heard that before? ) its the FA Cup.

Never take anything for granted and besides that, why give them another reason to want to beat us. .
