F.A Vase Costs.

Would one of our Stattos be able to inform me,regards Travel Costs now that Guernsey are in the Vase, would it still be worked out by the Mileage Travel, plus overnight stay allowances.Any profit or loss shared equally between both sides. This could create a Windfall for Teams visiting Guernsey, but surely a loss for any team entertaining them.Crowborough had i beleive 265 attendance at say £5 per head =£1325,whereas Guernsey had 1025 @ say £6 per head=£6150.If Crowborough had to split travel costs alone, they would surely be out of pocket, whereas Farnham would be in pocket.Just makes me wonder just for purely Financial Reasons,if it would be possible to switch a home tie to Guernsey.Guernsey,s highest Crowd in the U.K. is 325,so even if you beat them at home, there is no way you could make any money, out of playing them here. Now that the F.A. have sanctioned GFCTV to cover Guernsey's F.A.Vase ties, will their be a Fee payable to the Home Club for allowing this to happen,or will the Revenue earned be split?

I believe travel costs for Guernsey are treated as if they were Gatwick-based ie Gatwick to Crowborough and back at £4 per coach mile or 40p per mile for up to 5 cars. I think overnight stays only come into the equation if the journey time is in excess of 4 hours each way so, in theory, any clubs hosting Guernsey aren't any worse off than hosting any other club.

I'm assuming that Guernsey still pay the air fares and hotel expenses for visiting clubs in FA competitions but no doubt someone from Guernsey will confirm whether I'm correct or not.

Either way, most clubs in the early rounds of the Vase probably end up in a loss situation when you're looking at double-figure attendances and round trips of 60 miles plus !

On the plus side the host club should make extra money from clubhouse sales, tea bars, programmes, raffles, etc., and, of course, the winning side in each game gets the prize money as well.

What difference does it make to you personally Smudge? Why the continual financial questioning of all that surrounds Guernsey? Guernsey are not in this for the money just to be able to fund their survival in non league football with all of the hurdles that stand in their way they will have to ensure that no stone goes unturned. For goodness sake just back off and leave Guernsey alone. Home or away Guernsey are providing some of the biggest crowds in the CCL so every club benefits from that. Did you behave in this manner when Wimbledon were esculating the CCL? If you cant say something positive dont say anything at all.

There were 38 people at our Vase game at Camberley.

Officials were from Berkshire.

I don't think we will get a penny from the tie other then the prize money.

No doubt our next tie at Lingfield will be the same.

I wish people would stop questioning people asking questions! If it's football and in particular ccl-related then it's a worthy topic and of interest to some!!

However I must admit I thought Smudge would know the answer to this as I'm sure he mentioned the Gatwick-as-base thing on here before.

Guru, this is a Forum my dear Friend, and my independence from any CCL Club allows me to question or even ask questions,I believe of any Club within the CCL,Even the League it self.Interestingly you only get your back up on here, when anything is posted about your beloved Guernsey.Did not see you post about the Low grade Hotel, that visiting Clubs had to stay in when visiting the Isle,so I assume that you were either on holiday,or you agreed with me,being resident their. The thing is Guernsey FC do things behind other CCL Clubs backs,GFCTV,covering League games, getting permission from the F.A for Vase fixtures.Without even contacting all the CCL Clubs it will affect, the benefit to them is ZERO,and you know it.The League in my opinion have shown weakness to all their Fellow Member Clubs, who pay a large Membership Fee to them to look after their best interests, not Guernseys alone.

This is correct and has been standard procedure as long as Channel Island teams have entered UK competitions, whether that be Vase or County Cups.

Good to see another Guernsey topic, been at least 24 hours since Smudge started one.

Just to clarify regarding our Vase trip to Guernsey - we received travel costs to Gatwick airport and obviously the flights and hotels were covered for 20 people. We did not receive any of the gate receipts as apparently island clubs do not have to do this. We had a fantastic weekend and loved the experience but the club did not make any money from the trip.

Interesting fact,so is it reciprocal when Guernsey visit?CCL Clubs do not have to give them anything bar the travel costs from Gatwick.

I'm pleased you had a great trip over and like I have said before you are a top club.

I'm surprised and disappointed that you didn't get any gate money ! I don't know the rules on this though.
