Gamesmanship and cheating....

whilst i agree with your ethos and dont condone with cheating in reality when managers are fighting the sack and your team is struggling im sure if this happens you will see a very different Guernsey fc

You won't see any difference we won't try to cheat to win !

This is my last post on this matter I'm repeating myself here ! ;-)

To be fair everyone has there opintion and should be aloud to air it but our manager and players would rather listen to Ross Allen and the other Guernsey players who said to our faces as we sll sat round the table we were the best side they'd played by far and fully deserved the win on the day. More than one way to win a game of football, good sides adapt tactically which we did on the day and it worked a treat, the benefits of having a management team that has won titles at a much higher level.at no time did we cheat to win that game.

YellowBoar i do believe that you are STILL the only side to win at Footes Lane.....dont worry about what that numpty says as this is clearly a great achievement for your club and one which you should remain proud of!! In years to come when Guernsey are climbing the non league ladder you can always look back and claim this accolade....you never know you may STILL be the only club to have beaten them at home come the end of this season. GD will always be bitter about this particular defeat!

Your tactics of kicking the hell out of our players, extreme time wasting and feigning injury ( I thought there were a few snipers in the crowd ! ) when hardly touched certainly worked !

I thought we deserved the win on chances in the match.

I'll admit you did play well and I didn't think you needed to resort to your 'tactics'

I was very disappointed with your teams antics. If you want to win at all costs that's fine I hope you can live with yourselves

Wrong Chubby ! As always !

Wimbledon and Nuneaton have beaten us at home. Both fairly and I have the utmost respect for both of those teams in the way they beat us and behaved.

Talking about CCL GD, thought that was obvious, but clearly not for someone lacking any real intelligence. Talk about being a bad loser, you can't seem to let this one go can you and admit that on the day Eversley got it right and did one over on you. How about you just accept that and take defeat graciously, or is that simply just too hard for you?! We're talking about a game from last season here, let's move on.

Smudgey, touched that you missed us, we're back from the pub now.

From talking to GFC players, coaches & officials it's fair to say that first and foremost winning is the aim. Yes, it would be nice to win through playing in the 'Corinthian spirit' but it would be naieve to imagine that some of our lads wouldn't take advantage of a situation from time to time. After all you play to the whistle. And one or two have played at a higher level....

With regard to Eversley, no Ormering wasn't at the game at Footes Lane (watching South Kilburn v Hartley Wintney that day), but was at the match at Eversley early in the season. Eversley should have stuffed us that day (cow's arse, banjo and never the twain shall meet for most of the game). GFC got a couple on the break and a fantastic free kick from the home team.

All in all Eversley knew what they had to do to win at Footes Lane and they got it right. No complaints from the players, coaches etc because they know 'that's football'. If you want to beat Barcelona, you don't play them at their own game, after all.

I find it very strange GD that you have to post 13 times (to date) on this thread when once will suffice. Perhaps you will refrain this time and start your journey to redemption! ;)

On that game last season we disturbed your rhythm, frustrated the crowd, frustrated your players, not to mention worked our nuts off, scored 3 times and won the game. Sorry about disturbing your ivory tower that day.

In maybe 5 or 6 years time, perhaps in the FA Cup, I’m sure a time will come when you are playing away from home against a side with far greater resources and a far bigger crowd then ‘tiny’ Guernsey. You never know you could find yourself maybe 5 or 10 or 15 minutes away from a result. I wonder what tactics Tony Vance will adopt to ensure this day is a historic one for Guernsey? If you are correct in your assumptions about Mr Vance being a purist above victory then my guess he will be long gone by the time this day arrives.

p.s hope we get you away in the cup this season and become the only team to beat you at Footes Lane….TWICE!

GD, just block Chubby. He's a WUM.

The Combined Counties voted to let Guernsey in, and is it their fault that they have a good set up that most non-league clubs would give an arm and a leg for?

Okay, maybe they should have played at Step 7 for a season (who knows?) but what's done is done and they've been a great addition to non-league football. Besides, when leagues are losing clubs it's great that the Combined Counties has gained a great one.
