Cookie
Well pray we get a result next week Mark. (Gate now 8/1 or 9/1 to win the league at most bookies).
Coffin Ender
A word of caution...who was top this time last season? Hendon, who finished seventh. The eventual champions, Billericay, were seventh at this stage last year.
Cookie
I'm only giving out the odds CE. Mark will be interested having got 39/1 early on. Am not saying we'll win the thing at this early stage in the season.Despite our position I need to see more improvement before I'll go anywhere near to saying that. marksandwell
I see our biggest home league game attendance last season was just over 500, be nice to beat that at our next home game...
michael
Not sure i actually 'enjoyed' the game-can't when just 2-0 up,was praying we would go 3-0 up when you can relax just that bit more. Pity the wind spoils so many games-but thoroughy professional performance saturday i thought-as stated-a real team effort. great to get a league win in before the 'break' -2.5/3 weeks before next league game-so keeps up momentum-and nice to settle back in to next league game, knowing that you won the last game-and tus are not 'desperate' for theleague win. Is it my eyes-but has danny stubbs grown an inch taller over the summer-that aside-i noted he won a lot of headed'second ball 'in midfield yesterday-credit to him for that.hes never going to win against a 6 foot tall guy-but won more than his fair share of headers and credit accordingly imo. a couple of points that i thought were slightly 'off':iwithout trying to sound like alan hanson-i thought beales and alaile played a bit too far apart in first half-but the back four seemed 'closer together in second so were more secure. One thing that surprised me -Avery stayed back for our attacking corners.surely Avery is one of our best attacking aerial threats-so why did he not go up for corners.he actually 'attacks' the ball as opposed to waitig for it to come to him-wasted opportunity ? Plenty to like i thought: liked the way we 'came out of blocks' with purpose in first half and took the initiative-last season and before,-we seemed to react to how the oppostion played--now we seem to take ithe initiative and impose ourselves on the opposition. thought rook goal was decent-a bit better than a scuff as reported elsewhere.ok-he missed one-but took one-and i thought 'led the line' really well-held the ball up well. to be fiar-i thought bradbrook was under=rated/underused-but rook is a class above . Murphys goal-very good but not quite the goal of the decade as seen by others-a bit wind assisted and were a couple of richochets-good just the same. I did think murphy had a really good game though-particularly impressed by his work-rate-twice was found behind pooley at left back-really worked hard i thought. again-just a thoroughly professional and efficient performance i thought-so really good

dannyriding
some at 7/1. i notice they still fancy Whitehawk, i wonder what they know... that would be because of their playing budget, double ours Im led to believe... . Money doesnt buy you good teams but it helps to have a few bob in the kitty.
