Staines 1 Blues 2

Great result for the boys today - our first points away from home.

First scored by Osborn from a ball played behind their back four. A good finish considering he had missed a similar chance earlier in the game. Staines equalised just before half time after we had a collective snooze.

The winner came two minutes from time after the ball came through a ruck of players and hit Swainey and went in. There was a lot of injury time after a nasty looking injury to their full back following a collision with his own keeper. I'm sure we all hope he recovers ok.

The ref made a rod for his own back with a couple of early bookings but I felt he could have been a bit firmer as Staines did seem to kick us a lot. Silly from Nathan at the end - now he will miss a game but never mind it still can't detract from a very good and deserved away win.

Well done lads! Come on you Blues!!

Both keepers made good saves but overall I thought we just about deserved the three points. We were the better side in the first half and created the better chances. The game died a bit after the lengthy injury delay but the winner came from a set piece we always looked dangerous from.

Second half highlights are here:

Was an excellent result and our first away points of the season deffo deserved the win after a great 1st half and was gutted to go in at 1-1 after being on top for most of the half.

2nd half Staines got more into the game until the injury to the Staines defender Sam Bates (who is now out of hospital and actually had concussion) but it didn't look good at the time, after that the players seem to switch off(as i did) but still managed a late rally to win the game.

Well done fella's on a top performance thumbup%20(2).gif

First points away from home and it wasn't our best performance we've have this season. Seemed to take a bit too long to realise that we needed to get Osborn running in behind rather than jumping to win headers.

Please he got his firs goal, he has been moved around and dropped to the bench, but when he is on seems to always give it his all. Should of had two but I'm sure there's more to come!

After the report in the NLP today saying. Nathan shoved there right back into the keeper, I'm glad there is video to prove he didn't and was merely jumping for the ball.

All in all a good day out again, good following blue army and 3 points, only downside was Nathan sending off because he is in fine form, but he will learn now just to leave the ball.

Roll on Saturday, let's not get caught up in the occasion, play the football we have been for 90 minutes and fingers crossed will be on top!
