The Ace in the Pack.

Smudge

Recommended Posts

I now kwow why no one has given us an update, about the alledged incident reported by Guernsey to the CCL,that no one had any idea about what happened, first mentioned on this site by NLN.Well at great expense,Smudgey Investigations, well 2 pints to be exact has found out a few facts. The alledged incident revolved around a few meals, that were unpaid for at the time by Croydon Players at LA ROQUETTES,who mistakenly thought that they were part of the excellent Hospitality laid on by Guernsey FC.The second part of the allegation regarded noise made at the Hotel by the Croydon entourage.Well the ace in the pack,I have been told who turned up at the CCL Hearing to discuss the matter with the CCL Commitee, was none other than their most staunchest supporter,ex Croydon Central MP,Andrew Pelling.Who as supporters do follow their team the length and breadth of the Country even Guernsey, now that shows dedication you must admit. And had happened to of made the trip over to Guernsey with the Team on that particular day,I am led to believe that he asked the Committee of any evidence that Guernsey had provided to substantiate their claims, non was forthcoming. He also asked the Committee if they were aware that there was a Wedding Party reception being held in La Roquettes that night, they were not aware of this fact either. So a mountain was made out of a Molehill, but beware when you visit, La Roquettes is not all that is cracked up to be,hardly 5 star, the food is not Cordon Bleu either, but quick to complain. As Alan Constable CCL League Secretary said to the Press we have never had a complaint like this before in the whole time the League has existed, neither I bet have they had an ex MP give evidence on behalf of a Football Club.So put me out of my misery ALAN,what was the outcome of this Meeting?

Some facts for you Smudge, firstly the hotel does not claim to be 5 star, a quick look at their website tells you it has three Guernsey Tourism stars. I have eaten here many times and the food has always been top notch. Where does the claim that its Cordon Bleu come from?

I have been asked by someone who I can't mention ( this person knows the FACTS about this incident ) to clarify something.

The hotel involved in this incident was NOT La Rocquettes as Smudge has said. I will not give out the real name of the hotel involved as that is not my place to do so, neither do I know the full facts.

So Smudge this is more lies you are posting.

I think you owe an apology to La Rocquettes Hotel and also to your club and Guernsey FC.

I won't hold me breath......

Perhaps he meant Croydon Bleu [otherwise known as Maccy D's] LOL.

I only talked to Smudge again because someone wasn't happy with these lies he has posted. I have done this as a favour to that person as he isn't a member of the forum so I had to voice his concerns for him.

Smudge, as the incident is still an alledged one, how can your opening post contain facts? Plus, by your own admission they are wrong!

It looks like its bullpoo.

I'd love to comment further but I can't !

But I will, ST MARGARETS LODGE HOTEL.

There were comments about this Hotel on Trip Advisor:-There is a fine line between Shabby Chic, and down at heel, and this place definitely favoured the latter.

All the Furniture needs replacing, and very soft beds, some baths were dirty.

The Players were not to pleased with the Food,Watered down Soup,Pizza, and some Pasta for £12.99p per head.

If in this Country you eat out and the Food is not up to standard, you are entitled not to PAY for it.Happened to me once, the Owner called the Police, and said I had refused to pay.Was asked by the Police if I had money on my person, which I did. When I told them that the Food served was not fit for human consumption, they advised the owner that he would have to get his money,by Civil Action.Could this of been the case in Guernsey, await HKP AND GD's reply, they have sure to of eaten there.

as a local i wouldnt consider eating there which should answer your question.

Haha, I definitely second this comment!

No idea why they were at st Margaret's lodge though as I thought they used the rocquettes? St Margaret's lodge is known locally as a bit of a dive and would definitely be cheaper. Not sure if that's the reason though.

Ultimately, no matter here they stay the away team is likely to get lagered up after the game which will inevitably cause trouble if they all stay in the same place. I don't see that it can be helped really.

Ban lager on the island. You have the power.

Our barman would love to gid rid of the lager pumps and only sell proper beer at our place but sadly too many people are fashion victims and drink what they're told whether that's lager or cider.

I remember when cider was a drink for goths and weirdos (I was a mixture of both), now everyone's at it but for some reason they put ice in it. Why would they do that? Oh yeah, I forgot, the adverts on tele told them to.
