BBC Sports personality of the year 2012 - who would you pick?

Recommended Posts

Not Sir Chris Hoy, but Chris Hoy - he's still active so shouldn't be called Sir yet

I think it'll be Wiggins, but I don't know, had Murray won Wimbledon instead of the US Open it'd be him for sure, it could still be him

I'll probably not vote because there's so little between everyone and there's no clear fave (like Kelly Holmes in 2004) - but at least we'll have a worthy winner whoever it is, not like in 2009 when the least worthy contender on the shortlist won

Murray can come across with a bit of a monotone and sounds a bit dull admittedly - I think he's getting better though.

It is the British Broadcasting Corporation so I think the English thing is unimportant.

I don't think you quite understand the situation with regard to how Murray and his Scottish Nationalist supporters view things cup of tea.

When Murray won the US Open Sean Connery was interviewed on the success and growled "...and stop calling him British, he's Scottissssshhhhh"

If Murray wants to represent Team GB in the Olympics (which he did) and would like to receive the coveted British Sports Personality of the Year Award, then perhaps it's time he made up his mind?

Well Connery got knighted so clearly HE's British enough, so Murray must be

Yes, he's a fairweather Brit.

Seb Coe does come across as an arrogant tit though - I remember that his 'Olympics Police' tried to stop people using the word 'Olympics' in their businesses.

I thought that was nore to do with what the Olympic Association wanted rather than Lord Coe

Murray hasn't GOT a personality and I think there are plenty of people who still see him as anti-English.

Umh.. When he cried after losing the Wimbledon final my opinion changed about him. At least he sang GSTQ unlike the Welsh footballers...

Oh dear, when people stop believing everything that is written about Murray by the gutter press, then he may be viewed differently.

The BBC apparently told him to wear the shirt of a rival England were playing, think it was Paraguay,so they could get a story,he was apparently unsure but was told it was just banter.Next morning the sun run with all sorts of garbage as per usual and the myth of any hating the English is born?

I love visiting Scotland, absolutely love the place as do I love visiting other parts/countries of the Uk,even named my daughter with a Scottish name, but when Scotland play football I support the other side, just because it's footy.

About time people in this country actually stopped behaving like children and listening to the gutter press, who so often are moaned about by being just that "gutter" when it suits people and other times a story when it's aimed at someone they don't like

I am English first and British at the same time,am sure Andy feels the same albeit Scottish first like millions of other people who are proud of both titles

Blah blah blah...

I've heard Murray speak about not being British on the radio, saw Connery on CNN.

Yes, sometimes you make your own mind up whether you read it, hear it or saw it.

So what if you love Scotland? D'oh!
