How good do you need to be?

Just wondered how good you need to be to play in the league and are any clubs looking for players?

Is it just a case of turning up at a training session and seeing if your good enough?

They will want to know at what Clubs you have played for,age etc.Best if you phone a Club first to arrange attending a Training Session.

I've only ever played local football at not a great standard.

That's why I ask how good do you need to be, so I can try and work my way up.

I'd like to play at this level if possible.

I'd say the CCL is a very good standard. Arguably the best step 5 and 6 leagues in the country

I dont think that's true, when was the last CCL club to win the Vase? Northern Leagues are very strong.

The only way to find out is to jump in the deep end and get involved. I know clubs say new players welcome on their websites etc but Smudge is right find a club you fancy and give the manager a call or email someone at the club and ask them if you can attend training. Thats what im planning to do next season and although I know a few guys at various CCL clubs i still think id rather phone the gaffer and ask first.

That's a good call as they've got five Saturday sides and three Sunday sides. I'm sure you'll fit into one of them.
