Guernsey WILL walk this league !

Recommended Posts

That would have been us, Henry. Fair play for taking it in the spirit it was intended. No harm was meant. Also thought you had a good game and couldn't be blamed for any of the goals (unlike a certain Mr Tardif at the other end). Your save from Zico's free kick in the second half was superb. You're a great club and an extremely nice bunch who made us feel very welcome. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Cheers, I was enjoying it and always like a bit of banter. To be fair if I was looking to avoid it I'd probably not sport a pink bandana in hot weather.

Anyway, I was at Westfield last season and have enjoyed the 3 games I've played against Guernsey. Players, fans, and officials a friendly bunch who made us feel extremely welcome when we were over in February.

Guernsey have, in my opinion, been nothing but good for the Combined Counties. I would happily wager my worldly possessions that for 99% of the players in the league it will be the only time they fly to a game, and off mainland UK, for a game of football. Also for many it will be the biggest crowds played in front of. All a great experience for the players and officials which surely, at this level, is what it's all about. After all it is a hobby.

Also the best side I've played against at this level, including AFC Wimbledon many years ago. I wish Guernsey, Guernsey TV, and everything connected with the club all the best

Donkey

Can you cast your mind back to last seaaon when you lost at home to Eversley and after you finally finished blaming the officials you threw the biggest ever toys out of the pram strop and vowed never to post on here again such was the laughter in your direction.

Seeing as you clearly cant take what you dish out perhaps you should think twice before larging it in here again

Now the good side of all this for Guernsey is that it is rumoured, but still not 100%, second place WILL be promoted this season. Can anyone confirm this has been set in stone,

No one can confirm this as it's not true. Second place MAY give a promoted place. It will all depend on the PPV on all the second placed teams at Step 5.

What an absolute gentleman! Its a pity that all contributors on these forums can't be this balanced, and I am talking about taking banter (true banter not personal attacks) in the true spirit, not about how Guernsey played.

Anyone who predicts the end of the season at this point is depriving some village of an idiot. There is a long way to go, and a lot of twists and turns yet to come I am sure.

Just a shame very few players come on here and say what great hosts other CCL Clubs are, which they are.Bet he really loves Banter about his weight,is that TRUE BANTER Panthera? They all love Guernsey because they all get a FREE WEEKEND AWAY,not even annoyed if they get heavily beaten. But if they had any sense, they would try harder to win, then they could go year after year FREE OF CHARGE.

Others on here have also predicted Guernsey will win the league. You are calling a lot of people village idiots with that statement !

Even old TWO FACE Smudge has predicted we will win it.

True banter if you are an adult about stuff Smudgy, you are entitled to your opinion, but I don't believe that any club would want to come over for a 'free weekend' without playing their best during the game, that doesn't compute with me, neither does your view that they don't care if they win or not. I have seen almost every home match, and some away matches and seen the players in the the clubhouse afterwards, and while they are enjoying the reception that they get, you can see that they do not enjoy it when they are on the losing end of a game. I do agree that it would be nice to see other posts about the warm welcomes that sides get at other clubs.

But football is a funny old game Donkey - I haven't seen all of these teams play so I wouldn't put my house on it. I'm a man of statistical probabilities ;-)

Well we beat the team who have gone top tonight 5-2

My sources tell me they should be our main danger. So if we can beat our main danger easily I'm very confident we will win the league

Think they will be very tired by the end of the Season,42 games in CCL,10 games in the vase(i have backed them to win it)So that puts the kybosh on that!!! 5 to retain the Premier Cup,Not sure if they are in the Hants Cup.So a possible 57 games in total.Add in the terrible weather forecast for Jan/Feb,and their season has to end before May.So that they can play the Muratti Cup. But they will do it,I am convinced they will, unless of course the CCL Clubs show some backbone, and go back to norm.No Ball Boys,No GFCTV,No laying on a Special Spread,NO early kick offs,Players going home straight after the game is finished, which is the norm, unless they are getting a bit of wedge.Be what you are,not what your not.Get out of the Guernsey HEADLIGHTS AND BE YOUR NORMAL SELVES.

Whilst many have said Guernsey will win the League, not many have predicted that we will walk it. As I have previously said, its the mid-week away games when we dont have a full side out that will test us.

GD upset a few but probably right..... Don't like the way he has done it on here but it is his opinion and why feed his ego with all the replys.Ignore him if you want to, congratulate them if they get promoted but don't all gloat if they dont as then you will end up being the donkeys yourselves.

A big slice of humble crumble and custard is sometimes nice to serve to some people.
