Saturday 8th September scores

Newby, we make loads of chances, play a lot of posession football, and have an abundance of pace, but again in front of goal, we just cant put the ball in. Same old week in week out. But down to us to change it and start scoring goals. We need your composure in front of goal as shown in training.

Nice Guy, i think thats spot on. In games last year, we could play poor but still score goals, one of the massive differences this year is finishing and why these teams are in this division. They know how to put the ball away.

Im sure it will click soon, just got to keep plugging away and gain a bit of confidence and get the lads heads up and go again. Always positives to take. Also i dont think we deserve to have lost as many as we have but thats football.

It is true Tommo once your in the rut its difficult to get out as once you concede one the mentality of players seems to turn into here we go again. Which by some of the comments made by some of the Knaphill players regarding attitude of others on saturday seems to be the case.

Hi I was also at the game.

I wouldnt say you had lots of chances, you had lots of possesion 2nd half but that is not chances.

All you seemed to do was keep the ball,Horley were happy to sit deep as it was a hot day and you crossed the ball into the box which was easy for the Horley back line to defend against.

You had a couple of half chances where the Horley keeper came out well and smothered.

Horley missed some good chances to possibly make it more.

Its a tough league this year. As people say anyone can beat anyone on the day.

Were you no 6?

When it all went off I was chatting to the Molesey keeper. I saw the 5 throw a punch and the keeper confirmed that Liam threw punches too so we both agreed they should get sent off. Neither of us saw Webby throw one at the time.

Fair play to the ref for not sending the players off but I wonder if his assessment suffered because of it ?

Where does the Molesey 5 throw a punch, Kroons? Just seems to be trying to free himself from his namesake trying to swap shirts early! You could argue the keeper could have been shown a red as he did appear to lose it, but on balance probably yellows all round was sufficient.

Staines Lammas 2 AFC Croydon 3

Loyza 2

Jansen

Game of two halves as they say really but luckily we came out on top! 1st half we were the better side and scored twice through the head of Joe Loyza. Staines didn’t threaten much at all. After hearing their ‘hair dryer’ treatment at HT through the walls and our complacent attitude things turned around unsurprisingly in the 2nd half. Staines were on top and pulled one back through Matt Baxter. They kept on coming at us and got their rewards about 15mins from time through a good long range effort. That then gave us a massive kick up the back side and with 5 minutes to go Jansen finished well from an incoming cross from the left.

Good 3 points for us at a difficult place to go!

I was number 6, probably Horleys best player on the day!!

To be honest i agree we did make it easy for your defenders with the crosses. As it was a hot day, cannot blame you for sitting deep, we just lack that killer instinct a lot of the time so break through teams that will sit and absorb. sometimes best to mix it up otherwise becomes very predictable. I love the philosophy of keeping the ball on the deck but sometimes good to go long. All defenders hate running at their own goal.

Credit to your front men tho, made life difficult and a great finish from Adam.

Quite right TRS he didnt but then neither did Liam. Watched it again now and it was a load of old handbags. Fair play to the ref for managing the situation.

i was right about the thumping header though !!!

Unfortunately losing becomes a habit Redders, maybe the focus should be on not losing rather then winning. I wouldn't focus too much on trying to score when its like this. 1st step is stop them

Going in, pick up some draws and then the rest will click into place.

Best post in 3 years on here,Tommo advising another side on how to stop goals, was he not at Sandhurst, their defence is/was like a sieve. :D :D :D

Newbs that maybe the difference between the 2 CCL divisions ? What do you think ? Whereas you get more chances in Div 1 without getting punished .....a step up ?

Im not blinkered as a bedfont player but in the games ive seen we shouldnt have lost were creating more chances than opposing teams but the strikers are more clinical an if we make a mistake were punished so yeah a definete step up are the players better ....i havent thought there were any stand out players though i didnt see first three games

Adam, dare I be right with this mob on my case all the time, after all I know nothing ;) !!!

Not sure what system you play, perhaps that needs looking into and trying various types in training ?

At this level, goalscorers are a premium, infact at all levels to be honest as they help alleviate the pressure the defnece are put under when you're not scoring..

Then on the other hand Adam, perhaps Bedfont should concentrate on their defending with keeping only 1 clean sheet, conceding 14 goals in 8 games which is getting on to be 2 goals per game. Sometimes teams need to win dirty, gain the confidence and slowly progress..... then it will gradually come. A dull 0-0 a clean sheet wont do any harm at time of the season to stop the rot in the league, tighten up your belt and if you have the pace you say you have, then counter attack could be your teams element of surprise.

I will come to watch a game soon..........
