The Mayor Of Simpleton
One for the resident forum managers. If one of your players gets a 'Sine Die' suspension, can he get round the suspension simply by using a pseudonym in a future game? The only reason I'm asking is because a player at a Step 6 club near me has put on his Twitter 'Hilarious, how is this going to stop me from playing - I can just play under a false name.' and attached a photo of a letter from his local FA which details the Sine Die suspension (money owed to his club and failing to respond within 14 days). Beano
If he does do that, and gets caught, then he, his new club and any individual involved in the deception (ie, whoever signs his registration form at the new club) will get in a heap of trouble including huge fines and potential additional bans. County FAs share information via a national database of suspensions, so this person is running a huge risk. Not many clubs would knowingly touch him anyway, given that his ban is for debts owed to a previous club.
Krooner
Talking of sine die I would be interested to know what people think re Alan Pardew. If he had done that to a ref on a CCL game I wonder how long he would have got. The 2 game ban he got is a joke.
HKP
Re Alan Pardew, the suspension should actually cover more than a touchline ban. Managers should be banned from all contact with players from say 60 minutes before a game until its conclusion. Just banning them from the touchline is no real deterrent. Totally agree Kroons,Maybe they apply different Laws to the so called Superstars ie Rooney,Ivanovic, and now Pardew.Large fine though, that must surely have hit him in the pocket
Easy game
Surely the admission of guilt has given him a lesser sentence. I read recently in the paper that an individual attacked a referee after being sent off a week earlier when there paths crossed on the street. Thoughts on this? Exactly, not in these days of mobile-phones/two way radios. I'll echo a comment I made a few seasons ago regarding pseudonyms/ringers. Youth Leagues and our local Ladies League players must have photo identity cards held by their Club Sec, which the opposing Club Sec can ask to see and verify against players before a kick-off. Not a bad idea for all Non-League.
bomaya
If the player is caught which he probably will be, the team will lose all points gained while he played under suspension. Guys an idiot to try it.
