The locals are not HAPPY.

I suspect that the Guernsey argument has strong clout - high attendances, a well-supported team, a successful team on the pitch and lets not forget the Le Tissier family link.

Yes, locals might not be happy, but I suspect that the stadium has been around a lot longer than they have. Why move in next to a stadium and then moan when they make plans to modernise? That is completely stupid, selfish, precious and petty behaviour.

Could they not enclose it, but build a 'tree screen' around it (plant trees around the exterior so that it does not spoil the view from the outside).

No, FA ground grading regs state quite clearly that a solid boundary is required. Nothing stopping any club from cladding the perimeter fence with ivy, or whatever else takes their fancy.

But please, all this malarkey about a fence, changing grounds, Surely the brass at GFC being as organised as they are (or are they?) must have known about this issue last season, even before and have it in hand, but then it appears they may not have.

Strange as they seem to have covered all other aspects, but this is a serious issue cos it will stop the club getting promoted or staying in the CCL Prem !

Interesting !

They knew about it for sure.

Think Adam means a solid boundary AND a tree boundary outside that for aesthetic reasons.

That I did, Bomaya, Romsey Town's ground being a good example.

This reminds me of when Aldershot went bust. They'd happily played league football for 60 odd years and hosted games with crowds up to 19000 at the Rec.

A new club was formed, they joined the Ryman League in Division 3 and had to put up a wooden fence behind the goal at the High Street end to comply with ground gradings at that level. Anyone who knows the ground will know that the fence served no purpose whatsoever as you can't see the pitch from the High Street and there was already a metal railing fence and a dozen turnstiles enclosing the ground at that end but they had to do it to get into the league.
