'For those with an interest in keeping Essex Senior League Records, we can report that Troy Archer of Enfield Town Reserves beat the all time record for goalscoring, the previous being Wayne Purser for Basildon Unitied Reserves in a 10-1 championship winning game against Great Wakering Rovers Reserves in 1994-95 with 7 and Dave Sams of Eton Manor with the same number on 16 March 1985 in a 9-1 win at East Ham Uniited':

 

Saturday August 25th Reserves Division West: Sawbridgeworth Town 0 Enfield Town 12 (not 13 as reported elsewhere)

Archer 13,15, 40, 43, 46, 51, 60, 66

I had a quick chat with Troy on Saturday and he said he had had better games and should of scored more! Very modest.

 

Would be good to see him on the bench on Saturday... he clearly knows where the goal is

Lets get this in persepctive! Whilst its a great effort, we have seen that the standard of the reserve league is shockingly poor by the few early results they've had! To assume that those players performing well in the reserves should instantly step up to the first team shouldnt be taken as a given. We certainly need to be in a better reserve league or even a 1st team league i.e. Spartan div 1
