bomaya
This game is on at 1pm on Saturday so I'm sure some people will try and get to another at 3. What's near there that can be doable in 10-15 minutes? Camberley v Molesey? Guildford City v Kingstonian (FA Cup) Any others?

bomaya
Why is it a 1.00pm kick off ? Presume so Guernsey can get a flight back that night. It's been done a few times before.

VPCTFC
Doubt you'll get to any other local ground by 3pm. The Ash game probably won't finish until 2.50 or later once you include added on time. A 12.30 kick off would have been better. Ash may have got more punters for that. I would have considered going to it before the Camberley game but 1pm means I won't. I remember last season some groundhoppers on NonLeagueMatters wailing when Guernsey away games were finishing at 2.50 to 2.55 meaning they wouldn't get to see 90 minutes of their second match. Chris Clapham
That is why we want a noon kick off v Guernsey on 17th November, especially with AFC Wimbledon at home on the same day at 3pm!
no melts
We went to guernsey and had to wait about for hours with nothing to do and it had an affect on are players as there we tierd. I would make them wait to 3 pm it's an advantage to the home team.

SurreysFinest
If a CCL side wants to return home on the Saturday night as Guernsey do each week do they not kick off at 1pm in Guernsey?
Smudge
Guernsey like 1pm kick offs, saves an overnight stay,as I believe they fly to the UK on Saturday Morning.Where as CCL sides would never of voted them in,if they had to go to Guernsey, just to play a game of Football.Has anyone done a study into the affects of getting up at 5.30am,driving to an airport, waiting around, then a 1 hr flight, then having nothing to do once you get there for 4 hrs.Eversley obviously got it right, would be nice to know, how they approached the game.Danielpjn mark their cards. So you're affected once a season, whereas GFC are once every two weeks or so. 1pm kick offs are only possible with the co-operation of the host club. Smudge
Ormering, not in December though eh.Love your site very informative, keep up the good work.Any news on the ground grading,or what alledgely went on when Croydon visited.
danielpjn
Our management team got it spot on. Instructed the players to grab a bite to eat and then chill out in their rooms. Then we had the pasta meal. It was gigantic portions and all players were told not to eat more than half. We then went for a walk around town. The management also made the coach wait for 30mins to avoid getting to the ground too early. Observing how the managers approached the game was very interesting. The approach was just as detailed as the game plan itself. Personally it really owned my eyes to the preparation that goes into a game. Interested to know other clubs approached it. Personally I don't think it's the early start that is affecting teams,I believe it's using the time to keep players focused that is catching teams out. ormering
With regard the ground grading we spoke to our 'Dear Chairman' about this at Crowborough. We're assured all is currently well but we will keep close to this. Can't believe the people involved in GFC have not considered though, given there are a few in the coaching/playing staff with experience at various levels in the Pyramid. Having asked umpteen people, not aware of anything that happened when Croydon visited that hasn't happened with other football / rugby teams in the past. Sufficie to say, Croydon (apparently) made up for their lack of scoring on the pitch in the small hours. Certainly not 'problems around the island' as suggested in the local paper. As our 'favourite uncle' we hope you'll join us for a sing song at some point this season - HKP is over for Chessington!

HKP
If a CCL side wants to return home on the Saturday night as Guernsey do each week do they not kick off at 1pm in Guernsey? Yes, GFC give them whatever k/o time suits their travel plans. Some teams have travelled the night before so then its an early k/o and a 3pm k/o means the team has travelled across that day. It's called being good hosts.
Smudge
So the way forward for CCL sides is to have a 5.30pm k.o,that way they get the best of both worlds.
