Curtis Robinson

not surprised if he has gone - CK didn't seem to know what his position was last year and he definitely is not a striker which is where he seemed to end up when selected - what happened about a league club (Hartlepool or similar) interested in him a season or two ago ?

If true, not unexpected. There is a lot I could say on the subject but, I will restrict myself to saying, "Best of luck to you Curtis in your stay at the "Southwood",I hope you enjoy the Thanet football social scene".

purely 'gut feel' but i anticipate one more squad member leaving before the end of the month.

Praying that we win on saturday-would that then free up a bit of money to enable CK to sing a real high quality central midfield player ?

would he in fact want to ?

I guess not everyone shares my obsession that most games are won or lost in central midfield which is where you need top quality and numerical advantage

mind you-CK did use to play with a strong cental midfield-gradley,mcflynn,keister and clarke

If Curtis is going, which semms 99.9% certain, that should free up his wages at least, maybe enough to get another player in.

Well there should be enough there then to sign the midfielder Michael requires or even re-sign Kwesi - but would he want to sit on the bench

with the top performing squad we have at present ?

Exactly where did it all go wrong? For the players maybe. I havent noted any who ventured over there going on to better things.

Most of those lads that went over there are not now playing for Ramsgate. One or two have even slipped back into Sunday League football again.

Having said that, in Curtis's case though it might revitalise his form.He has been a shadow of his former self this season from what I've seen of him. Maybe that's because the squad we have this season is superior to the ones we had previously.

At Ramsgate he will look good again in amongst a mediocre bunch (no disrespect intended), so in his case it might well help him recapture his form.

I'm never one to advocate a player spending time over here & acquiring experience of playing at this level with us & then to take a backward step, which is what I think is the case anytime one slips back into the Ryman South DIvision.

Curtis improved no-end each season with us & he did us & himself proud. I hope he does recapture his belief & form & then to regain impetus in his career.

The aspiring young lads at the club must feel very dispondent with no real chance of getting in the first team. Might as well be called London & margate Fc?

It's up to them to show they are better than the 'outsiders', the club shouldn't pick players just because they are local.

What doesn't help is that we are the only Ryman Premier club for 60 miles. If someone cannot get in our team does he really want to schlep all the way up to Cray or Thurrock for training and matches? So lads end up in the Ryman South comfort zone.
