Keith Scott resigns from Windsor

With Windsor Rebel saying he very much doubts there will be consequences if Slough fail to win tonight,it got me thinking that perhaps all this hype about Slough being favourites and wanting promotion,is what it is-hype!

The quality of the squad on paper doesn't look as good as last season or the season before that. Our attendances are not improving and we still have no answers on the proposed ground. We have huge positives with the reserve team, youth teams and academy and of course, all of us are praying that the new stadium is given the green light but you can't help wondering that all this press talk/bigging Slough up,is just a load of pretending and promotion is not really wanted.

Is Steve Easterbrook too loyal to Steve Bateman or is there a hidden agenda.Getting promotion comes at a high price with extra costs and further travelling.

Perhaps this dream of promotion currently,is pie in the sky and we should lower our sights a little, that way ensuring getting better value for money.

If our beloved chairman is serious that Slough Town should be playing at a higher level, then time must be running out on whether Steve Bateman is the man to take us up.What do others think?

This is no campaign to sack Steve Bateman,as from my point of view,I would like him to succeed but things need to be changed[team wise] for success,as currently we are poor. With a stroke of good fortune,Steve may be able to attract some Windsor players to our fold.Let's hope so for his sake and ours !

Support is about getting behind the team and the manager in real life 3 spirit, not on the forum. It is hardly supporting the

manager/team by stating , as Cookham Rebel did, "that anything less than a win could cause consequences" and

referring to the fact that Keith Scott is out of work is it?

Hang on WR, I said "I think" which is an opinion and "could cause" is yet another opinion, that is in no way not supporting the manager or the team, another defeat this early on "could cause" consequences as after 5 games that's 3 defeats meaning we could only afford to lose another 3 games in the next 37 games potentially!

Christ almighty, you'd think I want us to lose giving some of your comments! If I wasn't supporting the manager and team I would have written I hope there are consequences, BIG BIG DIFFERENCE!

At least Windsor FC are now doing what they should have done 18 months ago regarding their 1st team. A local lad managing the team with the community at heart and for no money or at least very little. Now maybe Windsor FC have a sustainable future living within their means. This decision should have been made a long time ago, good luck to the new manager.

As I have stated before, the new ground is priority. Promotion is far behind that in second place. With the

new ground will come new revenue streams, enabling us to get promtoion then.

Ok I agree with the first bit about the ground but what is the point of having the alledged current playing budget and squad if promotion is not the main goal?

We may as well pack up, wait for the ground to be built and then spend money on the playing side to get back into the higher echelons!

Find that to be a bit of a nonsense really!

Noble ideas from the Windsor chairman,HP9, but what happens if they get relegated at the end of the season? Long way down doesn't mean success or revenue through turnstiles. How many non-league clubs stand on their own feet really.Very few, I would imagine.

I have to agree with Cookham Rebel pointless to assemble a highly paid squad if the idea is not to be champions As soon as Dave Deeney had signed up he tweeted his friends and acquaintances that he had joined Slough for the good money that was the first thing he mentioned so Im sure we have one of the best if not the best budget in the league for very less money we could stay comfortably mid table

You maybe wishing they do, but I don't think they will get relegated

Yeah, relegation seems unlikely I'd have thought given that we already have a decent haul of points and presumably, seeing as many CCL clubs (apparently) don't have a playing budget, we shouldn't really be at a disadvantage overall - we will just be competing on a more level playing field. But I'd imagine Stag Meadow would still be seen as an attractive place to come and play due to the decent facilities, gates, and pitch so we should be able to get a reasonable squad together once those who still want to be paid for their efforts (or feel let down) have moved on.

We do seem to have a pretty decent bunch of youngsters as well and there's no doubt that Mick Woodham will be giving them plenty of opportunities. It's almost like a new start (again!) and, enjoyable though the last year+ has been, it'll be equally fun seeing more home-grown players getting their chance.

Will a few hammerings change my mind on that? We'll see I suppose.... :D
