Keith Scott resigns from Windsor

Just read the article in full. It looks like the season's playing budget is being re-directed away from the first team and into the "regeneration of Stag Meadow". Maybe they're going to put some limescale remover in the tea urn!

Seriously that's a major U-turn right at the beginning of the season and any manager would be understandably peeved.

I agree but let's face it, something fishy was going on, went bust then re-signed their league winning team basically! For all we know, they could be racking up debt again!

I wonder if we will take advantage of this, I'd be banging on Jake Parsons, Kyle Anthony and Ryan O'Toole's doors big time!

Yep, whilst not wishing any misfortune on Windsor (oh, ok, maybe a little) we should be looking to take advantage of this and secure some of the reinforcements we desperately need.

I expect this posting will cause a backlash but it is only my opinion.

There's not many non-league managers around that I would replace Steve Bateman with, however, Keith Scott would be one of them. I think he has shown that he knows how to get the best from the teams he's managed.

If we don't then SYCOB with the Byron Walton connection or Burnham will.

All I will say is it's a huge game tonight.

Big performance needed otherwise the vultures will be hovering.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for supporters to express their dissatisfaction on a forum aimed at discussing STFC. Call it bleating if you like. As long as comments are constructive and not personal I think they're entirely valid.

For the last two years, possibly longer, we have been touted as favourites for promotion and certainly in the last two years the club/management have done nothing to dispel that. We all know that with the squad we have (and have had) that we should be there or thereabouts.

For patches of last season we didn’t play well. There were quite a few times when we had to grind out victories and whilst that’s an admirable and useful trait to have, ultimately we have to dominate teams and control games if we’re going to be successful. For the latter part of last season (post St Newts) we didn’t do that and that’s what cost us first place. This season, with a weaker squad in my opinion, we haven’t been good either. Two goals ahead at half-time (Saturday) and you should be killing the game off, not capitulating. We could easily have lost that game 5-2.

It’s perfectly justifiable for people to express concern if we fail to beat Woodford who have mustered 0 points and only 1 goal so far this season. Anyway I hope we get back on track this evening with a convincing performance. COYR.

I agree with everything you've said Ian. For the majority of last season there is no way we would have lost from the position we were in on Saturday. It might have been edgy and we might have had to ride our luck but we would have ground it out.

I am fully expecting us to bounce back tonight and then hopefully we can go on a little run of consecutive wins and put this early season blip behind us. COYR

Totally agree Ian . There should be no talk of it being a hugh game it should be a routine comfortable victory by aspiring champions against one of the leagues poorest sides You are correct about Woodford only having scored one goal and having no points but its worth mentioning that they havent been unlucky in starting their program against any of the top sides NGU AFC Hayes and Barton theyve played so far. I wonder if Batemans habit of always talking up the opposition affects the confidence of the side In last weeks local press he claimed the Woodford game would be a tough one When he made that statement they were pointless and goalless ! It should be made clear to the squad the games when we expect comfortable victories I expect us to win well tonight and I wont consider it anything more than what should have happened

Spot on,Ian.

Windsor Rebel, I believe that it is best to encourage and try to offer support at games regardless of personal favourites or not, as the case may be.

The forum to me is about opinions, perceived good or bad and about healthy debate and discussion. It is ridiculous to throw accusations of non-support to the regular users of this forum. As if we didn't have Slough Town FC close to our hearts, none of us posters would be on here.

Support is about getting behind the team and the manager in real life 3 spirit, not on the forum. It is hardly supporting the

manager/team by stating , as Cookham Rebel did, "that anything less than a win could cause consequences" and

referring to the fact that Keith Scott is out of work is it?
