[Yosser is back !]

I have it on good authority that following a meeting last night at Windsor FC the chairman and management will all be stepping down and no budget will be available following this.This will happen after their next game. Think the vultures will be hovering ! Can anyone shed any light on this one !

Perhaps with last seasons massive budget (for CCL) you should have got promotion, if you did would this of happened I ask ?

 

With the emergence of Guernsey, did Windsor see that paying the same massive budget actually to be worth it ? Last season, I said all along that Windsor should have got promotion with £1800 a week budget, Windsor didn't so now what happens, a CCL club ? What a waste of money, what could that £65000 done for the club which is now what Windsor have decided to do !

 

You all knocked me ......... who's laughing now, and please don't tell me we did well in our 1st season.........the money man has stopped paying out, when will clubs ever learn to stop relying on sugar daddies !

 

That old saying what goes around, comes around.

 

BUT with the Windsor's name, you should get some decent players who would play for near on nothing,and still be credible in the CCL but yes Krusty the vultures will be out....first to go O'Toole if anyone in the CCL can afford him and other players ?????

First point, who else can clubs rely on? Without a money man/money men, how do you properly finance a club?

Second point, strongly rumored that Oxford United have been monitoring O'Toole.

I'm sorry NG, as usual all you are doing is spouting the same old shite. The budget was not £1800 per week. We knocked you for your gloating style, the constant drip of snidy half-truths and interpretations, rumours and general half-baked bs you spouted.

 

Stott has oft repeated that he had no intention of being a Sugar daddy as the benefactor model just doesn't work - but he was prepared to fund Yr 1 to get the club established - eyes open. If we achieved promotion great, if not then reassess. If it is taking longer than expected to get the alternative income streams in place then that's a fact of life one has to react to. Business plans are never fixed in stone - they have to be flexible.

 

If Keith Scott doesn't feel he can run a team with no playing budget sobeit.

 

It's all in the press articles - seems like a very sound policy to me. With Kevin Stott is has always been about the legacy - about building something for the future of the town and its community.

 

Kevin Stott has done nothing wrong, Windsor FC has done nothing wrong. But without Kevin Stott stepping in there would have been no Windsor FC last season - FACT.

Adam, what a stupid statement ! I can only think of 2-3 CCL clubs who have sugar daddies, the rest pay wages in accordance to what the club can afford, and what do sugar daddies want for their money !!!! Get real Adam, this is CCL not Barclays Premier !!!.

 

Windsor tried to buy the league and failed 'cos they didn't realise that Guildford also had a very good CCL budget and were familiar with the CCL standard, thats where Windsor failed. They should have saved some of that £65000 and waited for a year/season to understand the CCL level paying an average wage, then go for it this season. With more understanding and knowledge of CCL standard, then you wouldn't need to spend £1800 a week to try and win the league, you could at least save £500 of that budget money to win the league, its knowing what players. Try to walk before you run, not the other way around.

 

NO silverware either for all that money and they call that pre-planning !

 

Perhaps Windsors chairman saw the light and thought with only one club being promoted ....hold on Guernsey National side with their sponsorship backing promoted, nah I'm not wasting all my money again ! So he's pulled the plug and wise to as well. With no reserves, we might see some 1st team players stay, some CCL players arriving, in conjuntion with Windsors youth team taking over the shirts.

 

A reality check for Windsor. Their football aspirations were good, but flawed I'm afraid

Problem is you have really got to take those rose tinted glasses off, even your \Chairman commented about your budget at the end of the season. I understand you support your club and I really do wish Windsor well, as I repeat yet again, when I visited Stag Meadow on 4 occasions last season, it was a nice place with friendly people. .

 

Heres one for Roth the Moth, the person who said they would never come back onto this forum ! What would have happened IF Windsor did get promoted ? Would the chairman still have pulled the plug, 'cos if he did, it could possibly mean immediate relegation.......???.

On a serious note though, strange timing. Why not announce that before the season begins, rather 2-3 weeks into the season.

I was thinking the same PT but then is there really a good time in anyone's eyes to pull the playing budget as a fan probably not but as has been said already it is the right decision long term.

 

1 season does not make a football club but a few years hardship if you like for a longer term goal and hopefully success in the future this decision does need to be applauded even more so if the club pull it off.

...very true Bommie, but there seems to need some clarity about 2 definitely getting promotion, as I have not heard that this is happening for sure yet ?

 

I believe Windsor's first season gamble never paid off altho' there will be those who will deny this of course, but people can make their own assumption, I'd like to know what Windsor chairman would have done IF Windsor did get promoted last season ..... any Windsor forumrites have any idea ???
