The North Terrace

Recommended Posts

Let's scrap the name "the York Road End" as it sounds a bit non-league, and change it to the North Terrace, which gives it a grittier, Nationwide 2nd feel to it.

Similarly, the Main Stand should become the West Stand, and the Hatfield Road End, should become fully segregated, and renamed the South (Away) Terrace.

'terrace' and 'bank' are good nationwide words

i was thinking canvey should at least name a few bits of the ground..

that new terrace bit could be the 'north bank'

the opposite end should just be the sea wall

the huge seated stand should be renamed the 'nike' stand.. its not sponsered by nike but who cares..? (apart from nike and i doubt if they will notice)

that leaves those 2 bus stop thingys.. fk knows what to call them.. just call the whole thing the 'east side'

then we get to ground names real clubs have grounds named after roads or places.. none of this 'rec' or 'top field' or 'crabble' malarky

I wouldn't be too keen on re-naming the York Road End "the North Bank", as I believe those Gyppo's down at the Highbury Library use the same name.

However, the Hatfield Rd end could become the "South Bank", and then whenever we get a late winner down that end, tabloid journo's all over could use some banal pun about "The South Bank Show".
