Chris
Don't get me wrong. It's great the reserves started off with a win, and great we have a reserve side, but i'm a little confused by it all - and am I the only one? Yesterday the reserves play their first league match of the season and from what I can tell it's made up from a mixture of decent Sunday/Saturday league players and last season's under 18 team. Yet we have about 5 first-team players not in the 16 sitting in the stand yesterday who were not in the side or bench and could probably do with some game time and would have been a useful run out for them I would have thought? Surely we should be getting these players minutes in their legs rather than watching from the stand as they may be needed for the first team at any point? Isn't that the point of the reserve team? Ian
You'd like to think so, Chris. It makes sense for any squad players not playing for the first team to be getting match-fit with the reserves. It would also help bring the younger players on I'd assume. At the moment they seem to be run as two entirely separate things. Not sure what the longer-term intention is.
GarySTFC
Seems to be consistent with how the u18's and first team have not integrated over the years. I really do hope it will not be the same for the reserves and first team.
