I am not a great fan of the other General Chat Forum although I go there occasionally. I prefer this one and the postings over the past couple of weeks and 36 hours in particular are fascinating.

 

I can follow the debates: Chairman in/Chairman out?; Manager in/Manager out; Youngsters/senior players?; attendances; budgets; freeloaders etc. etc. Opinions. Most of the contributors to serious issues have a serious view which should be taken seriously. I know the identity of most of those who post on here although, fortunately, no-one knows who I am.

 

If Zeal, Laz, EFMTFTV, Caretaker, etc. make a statement inferring fact, as opposed to offering an opinion, I don't doubt that statement, although I may disagree with the opinion that follows it.

 

However. It is disconcerting when someone comes on here offering a view supported by a statement which is a lie. For example: knowledge of the playing budget apparently gained from a chat in the Boardroom; the pretence of attendance at the Grays game, or indeed any game since our suspension from the League.

 

I can only assume that a person who comes on here and lies in that fashion is intent, solely, on causing mischief. When such lies are not immediately recognised, they stimulate debate between people who care passionately about St. Albans City F.C. but may have differing views. The lying mischief-maker, is then satisfied, no doubt.

 

There are plenty of issues to be addressed at Clarence Park, both on and off the green bit, but cr@p like that doesn't help any of them and is a positive hindrance.

 

Gibbo is an infrequent visitor, apparently, and, of course, he wouldn't readily spot the the lying mischief-maker from the genuinely concerned Saintsfan. I can imagine his view of the matters raised and those raising them in these circumstances.

 

We have but one lying mischief-maker contributing at present, although he contributes under more than one site-name. There is no point in appealing to his better nature as he doesn't have one. It's time something was done, however.

Ask Bill Nich for an in depth explaination, however basically its £4 a month to enter, with 3 prizes drawn each month of £100, £50 and £25. Mrs Brew and I were the lucky winners of top prize a couple of months ago.

200 Club - I was thinking that it must be an exclusive group of people who have been to 200 or more matches. I went to every game in Harding's first two full seasons, so that's about 120. I've easily done 80 since, I reckon.

I think my father set up the first 200 Club, early 70's...Bill Nicholson will remember....anyway, do i join it by sending something to the Club....to whom ?
