Savagebee
What a waste of a good ground in my opinion. Did Kentish Town FC consider playing at Silver Jubilee Park ? Also why do London Tigers FC not play at Silver Jubilee Park as i think its a much better ground than Avenue Park ? Thanks for any info
Scottie_DTFC
I think it was down to a stand off over increased rental fees, but when you take into account how much they will have to spend to get Viking Sports upto scratch it must have been more cost effective to stay put. From our visit recently they still need to infill the pitch perimeter, have a turnstile, have 150 seats. Considering the league threatened to shut us down if we did not have these in place BEFORE the start of the season during our rebuild I'm very surprised they were allowed to play at all. I suppose it's who you know!

Thanks for any info Having spoken to their secretary Mick last season it sounded like the Tigers were more or less pushed out as those that ran the ground were more interested in having Gaelic football played there rather than association football, so it probably wasn't an option for Kentish Town. As I understand it the ground is still administered by a company called Kingsbury Town Ltd. though I stand to be corrected by those with more up to date information. I totally agree though - it is a waste of a good ground.

Yes the place has a decent clubhouse, main stand and a covered bit of terracing behind one goal and the ground is enclosed. A waste of a decent football ground in my opinion. RandomGuest
Surely you guys must know its better to talk about real facts rather than to speculate? As for the owners being more interested in Gaelic Football... Well you may not realise but a Gaelic pitch is bigger than a rugby pitch so don't understand how it could be played at Kingsbury?! Fat Albert
Great memories of silver jubilee pk. I was born a couple of miles away, and made my senior debut fir them in what I think was the old Athenian league? whatever that is now At the time (1978) it was a thriving social club and was packed out most nights and especially weekends. Never the greatest of grounds but a real tight knit club.
