I can't believe it!

Comments? It was absolutely awful, an actual disgrace to watch. If we're on the verge of losing at home to Corinthian Casuals, who are bottom of Ryman One South, then where do we stand in the football pyramid? They had one shot on goal and that was their penalty. God knows why ours was disallowed, I really don't have a clue. And just how late was our winner? My watch told me it was almost 9:40, so there must've been at least 6-7 mins of injury time. Bloody hell.

We did OK first half, but what the hell happened in the second half? We can all point to the referee having a bad game, but the boys in amber let themselves and the fans down terribly.

If we play like this on Saturday, God help us.

By the way what a poor turnout - I think I heard it was only 210.

I'm still looking forward to the Lewes trip but we've got to be sceptical about our chances after tonight.

We got the three points in the end, but weren't at all convincing in doing so---why can't we repeat the performance we put up in the first Welling game? The attendance of 206 was the worst for a league match for years---we've a long way to go at this rate.

We just can't match attendances from Wexham Park - even on a night like this we would have had 300 as a minimum. We seem to have lost about 75 fans at weekends, and 100-125 for midweek games. And we need them.

yeah we have lost some fans on midweek games, but with our midweek games changing from a tuesday to a wednesday I guess some people have other commitments on a wednesday. Plus I only realised we were playing on wednesday on monday and it was too late to change shifts!!

Losing some fans through the move from Wexham Park to Stag Meadow is perhaps inevitable, if only for reasons of transport.

However, aren't we missing the point here?

There will always be the diehard fans who will turn up, week-in, week-out, regardless of the weather and the quality of the play. But surely most of the spectators simply want to see good football played, with a better-than-evens chance of their side winning?

I have a feeling that if Slough Town were consistently wiping the floor with the opposition, the fan base would increase dramatically as the casual supporters started attending more often to see the quality football and the frequent goals.

The Rebels are lucky that there is this sizeable group of fans who keep hanging on, hoping desperately for a return to Conference days. But STFC have to earn their fans, and if they don't play well enough, the fan-base will dwindle away.

(I know I will get much flak for saying this but, as I cannot often attend Slough games, I always consider what the weather is likely to be and who the opposition are before deciding whether the protracted negotiation with SWMBO is going to be worth the effort. It is depressing enough reading about the latest dismal Rebels result on the forum, without witnessing it in person and getting frozen too. Yet if I knew that our players would be giving their all, and that good football and a few goals were likely, then maybe, just maybe, I would be more inclined to make the effort...

And I am sure that I am not the only such 'fair weather' supporter...)

To be honest CC deserved at least a point probably three.

The only reason why they are bottom is because they don't pay their players, or the referee. 10 men versus 12 scandalous. Penalty was extremely harsh, the left winger for Slough is good enough to stay on his feet and shouldn't result to cheating. Last time i saw such biased refereeing was at old trafford.

You can see why so many people like to visit slough. Especially when there are so many nice fans.

Just like your penalty that never was, seemed a perfectly good tackle. Or how about the timewasting to do your best for a point. Or how about the referee's inclincation to give you the majority of the 50/50 decisions.

As our penalty, and another which should have been given late on but wasn't, happened right in front of me, I think I'd have been in a better position than you to judge that one. Both players looked to encourage the tackle, sucked the defender in, and went over under the tackle. Both should have been given, although Spencer went down a bit theatrically.

Didn't realise you'd brought any fans, so you must be a director or member of staff of the club?

The only thing to say about last night was that Danny Steer played extremly well (he was the No.10 wasnt he!?) and that matt miller (No.11) was completly useless infact more than useless. We got out of jail thats all i can say, and how that casuals fan can say the ref was on our side i will never know!!!

I'm not a director or a member of staff of one of the most famous football clubs in the world. I am one of the few fans that went to watch the Casual play a team that was relegated from the conference, then the premier.

If you play like you did last night against Lewes it will be double figures.

If the referee was on our side, then why did he disallow the goal which followed the missed penalty? He was extremely poor, as were both teams, in my opinion. Yes, you defended well, but I felt our tactics were awful. Why was Hodges out on the wing, putting it in great high crosses when he should have been in the middle converting them? We looked completely inept. I thought we played below par at Tooting and was looking forward to us getting back on track against the bottom team. From what I saw, we aren't. OK, we won, but we certainly weren't worthy of it, no matter how much we enjoyed that frenetic finish.

Due to work commitments, I am unable to travel to Lewes this Saturday. It may just be the one match this season that I won't mind missing.

You will, Old Son, you will!

If there is one thing that can be guaranteed, it is that without a lot of things changing, like getting someone with some cash, our own ground, a training ground, and real long term development plan with the will to execute it, instead of a maybe development plan that seems to me to be totally dodgy, it is that!

It seems so daft, that with its history and the substantial and devoted support this club gets, a perfectly good football ground up the road just going to waste, that we are in this whole mess!

Quite depressing and totally frustrating!

I hate to teach you the rules of a simple game. If either sides players encrouch the penalty area, the penalty kick and any goal resulting from the kick do not stand. So the referee was right to disallow the goal. The referee should have ordered a re-take of the penalty.

In the corinthian spirit of the game, good luck at Lewes, see you at Windsor and Etons ground (as you don't have one) next year.

That's not really very brave RY, being as though

a) nobody knows who you are

B) your opposition to Deaner's reign probably means you won't be attending any games until he leaves the club

c) Does anyone really want to see your goolies?

Why is everyone so scared of Lewes? They have changed their team around since we played them, and are a good side, but they have Zepherin in goal who can be indifferent shall we say, former Slough reserve Dwaine Clark on the wing and Junior Kadi who played 2 games for us before being released?

We do have good players - and playing against a non-kick and rush side may help us. Look what happened against Welling?

Zepherin has been playing brillantly for Lewes by all accounts...

Good news is couple of there best strikers are injured.

We shall see - if we can play with the passion we did against Welling and the supporters really get behind the team - who knows?
