All we see is Bedford,St Albans,Gravesend,Billericay fans all on our site all having a pop either at our ground,our manager and anything connected with our club and I think the answer is that all the coverage we have had over the last year or so FA cup runs,and that tremendous day in the sunshine at Villa Park when we became Non League F A Trophy champions has really stuck in their throats. I can understand our neighbours from North Basildon hurting but some carrot cruncher from Bedford having a go really is a P**S take.

I think Merv has summed it up in his various postings. They just can't stop thinking about Canvey. Canvey is the team always on their minds. There is a very fine line between admiration and jealousy.<p>When was the last time you went onto someone else's board to post a comment about them? You're probably like me, couldn't give a t0ss about anyone but our own club. But them, they think, eat and drink Canvey - hence the dozens of postings (masquerading as insults but actually disguised admiration) that others post on our discussion board.

Frenchy and Park Lane. I dont think anybodys jelous of the Canvey side or the sucess. We all like our own clubs too much to care. The fact is Canvey are top of the league and so there to shoot at. I only long for the day when your manager, chairman..oh and I cant remember his name just now, just for once would say something on the radio that praises the opposition. Not just the usual, 'were better than they are'. If it wasnt for his attitude, I could probably like the club a whole lot more. Very best wishes for the future of CI once this season finishes. I admit that I would always rather see the bigger clubs suceed. If your long term plan is correct your own club may one day have the potential of others in your league and above.

'No one likes you WHY'?<p>Bit like the meaning of life really - so many possible answers, nobody knows for definate.<p>Option 1:<p>Jeff King - for his 'go out and crock 'em, you aren't gonna get anything else out of this game' instruction to his players upon resumption of the famous 0-2 victory for the 'Fleet.<p>Before anybody attempts to shoot me down in flames, it was heard by more than one person.<p>Option 2:<p>Jeff King - for his 'we're better than Gravesend - we know it and everybody in Gravesend knows it' statement on the radio a few weeks ago. We really agree with him (NOT).<p>Can't really argue with that one either!<p>Option 3:<p>Canvey Island - for being a complete dump.<p>Again, no argument there!<p>I could go on & on.....but I'm sure you get the idea. It's not that we REALLY hate you, but you'll find that the 'moneybags' environment in which your club operates would cause resentment amongst opposition fans of any division that Canvey played in. If you go up, so be it - if you don't, that means we have (superb)!<p>My own reason for hating Canvey?

Connex Daz I forgot that Gravesend is the nicest place on earth !!!!!!!<p>Ive been to Gravesend about 3 or 4 times now and on each occassion the whole area is a DUMP.<p>I asked a friend who works in Gravesend about where to Park and he advised me not to even drive as my Car would be up on bricks before my key is out of the ignition.<p>Before you say anything he is not from Canvey but Billericay.<p>Also if you think the ground is a s**t hole just try going back into the Archives of our wonderfull website and see how far this ground has come in just a short space of time and how far we will go in the future.<p>May we have a great night on Tuesday 26th March, Has anyone thought about getting the K.O. Like I've said before, you lot just think your so big. You have no history, no fans, no singing, no wit, 1 flukey trophy run and a couple of flukey FA cup results and you think your Man Utd, you havn't even played in the top level of non-leauge football yet.

You never lose a game fair and square, you've always got an excuse. Well we won't have to vist your smelly little essex hellhole soon as you'll go up or down and crash and burn.

Why do people not like Canvey - I think the poll that came up on your website a couple of weeks ago sums it up. It displays an arrogance that promotion for you guys should be some sort of divine right when one of the poll questions is that you won't win the league 'because you were robbed'. Don't get me wrong - it looks like both Canvey and Gravesend and Northfleet could end the season with more than 100 points and therefore it is sad that one of us will not get promotion when you consider the points tally that will probably get whoever promoted from the Doc Martens League. Unfortunately though the rules are the rules and so no-one will have been 'robbed'.<p>Next Tuesday could possibly be the championship decider - let's hope its a good game and may the best team win.

No its not because your winning things, its because we have played you so many times on the way up and were in the same league as your through all the divisions (not that i expect most of you have been watching canvey for that long, after all they wer'nt on the telly so couldnt have been worth watching) and there is naturally a bit of banter between the two clubs, didnt realise your lot havent got a sense of humor now your near the top! dont worry though im sure you'll beat Gravesend on tuesday night as mr king will undoubtably leave a large brown envelope full of cash sitting aroung in the refs dressing room and incase of the worst you could always bribe the electricity company to turn out the lights if your loosing.<p>ps what the hell is that smell at canvey???

The various County cups are based on the boundaries as they were in1902<p>After all you can't expect the duffers that run these associations to realise that things have moved on since then

The Essex FA cover large parts of Greater London as well as the present day Shire county of Essex administered from Chelmsford. Leytonstone and surrounding areas actually left Essex administration in 1925. While Romford (Havering) and other outer London Boroughs did so in the 1960's. Coz you play in Essex comps or put Essex on the envelope doesn't mean you are in Essex.
