Gerald Threegoals
Not much to be admired about Lowestoft - cynical, dirty and constant moaning to the ref. Great win for the Gate.

michael
looking forward to reading specifically how a really good win was achieved- well done. from a distance-it looks particularly good ,having been a goal down-and thus chasing the game-which normally leaves us exposed to conceding more goals-so again-stupendously commendable. dannyriding
Their No 5 needs looking out for as he badgered the ref throughout the game and was probably responsible for at least two of the yellow cards we received, their no 15 was an extremely dirty player and should have been given a red. On a positive note WE BEAT THE MOFOs.................... sorry got carried away there. Not a very tidy game by them and we TOTALLY deserved the win as they played the ref and not the game, first half we pretty much equalled anything they did and then some but the second half is where we excelled and took our chances and made them count. Truth is they had one real attempt on goal and scored we took several attempts until we IMO got into our stride and wiped their ar@ses with what can only be described as a wonder goal by Sam Long. If we can keep Hartsdown Park a fortress and gain a few draws/wins away from home then this team (early doors I know) could well produce the goods necessary to get us out of this league. Oh and can I just add "TOP OF THE LEAGUE - YOUR AVIN A LAUGH".......
Cookie
Very well done.Defence held firm this time.Bravo! Well deserved win in the end against,as mentioned elsewhere, a very physical opposition Mentions of a few players in particular who were really really good today. Long, Holloway,Rook & when coming on,Starkey. Much better with him at full back as he often ventures beyond the half-way line & links up well with Long, unlike others who take up his position. His defending is also top notch too.A good pairing those two Holloway was excellent in goal, never made a mistake & what he could't catch he punched away. Excellent save in amongst that lot too. Rook was also very very good. Worked exceeedingly hard & got in amongst their defenders & they didn't like it. Used his "old" head cleverly today. Finally just for Micheal as he is always asking about him, Alaile came on and got stuck in straight away.Did well did he. Good all round performance today from everyone. dflman
Terrific performance by all - and we won by playing football and not getting involved with their dirty tricks and off the ball nudges - well done everyone

Boney Crisp
first half was a no show by both sides, we had the better chances in the first and didn't convert. Their first real effort on goal ended in the back of the net. Whatever got said at half time (i'm guessing it was something like 'keep the ball on the ground') worked, we were UNBELIEVABLE. When I think it was Whitnell had that glorious opportunity early on in the 2nd half I was fearing we would rue that, but if anything we built on that and got a much anticipated equaliser. From then we carried on taking the game to Lowestoft and thoroughly deserved our second goal and what a goal it was by Long, brilliant individual effort. In the end I think Lowestoft will be happy to get away with only a 2-1 defeat, it could have and probably should have been more. Last few minutes were a bit scary the defence and holloway did well and kept their composure at all times If we play as good as we did in the second half for the rest of the season for 90 minutes we will win the league, it's that simple, but this is Margate and things are never that simple. Like I said first half was a no show, but the second half made up for that. One of the best Margate performances I have seen for an extremely long time
Coffin Ender
Lowestoft were big and strong and physical. Nothing wrong with that, so were Billericay and they won the league last season. The difference between them and Billericay was the quality of delivery into our box. Most of what we had to deal with today was hopeful rather than dangerous. First half was the usual windy hoofball tedium we are used to at Hartsdown. However, playing into the wind worked for us second half as we got the ball down more. I thought their keeper could have done better for both goals. It was good to see a red-blooded contest and our fans giving the visiting players plenty of abuse at the Hartsdown Road end. We have been too nice on and off the pitch in recent seasons. I haven't had the impression that visiting teams have found Hartsdown an unpleasant or difficult place to visit. Hopefully that is changing.
michael
38 league games to go-get a point every game and with just 2 going down this year-46 points in total should see us safe from relegation. (mind you-may be quite nice to do it by christmas )

Ace Sting
Superb performance today, agree with BC...first half was a right off. Only three chances, two to us and one to them, and they got lucky and took theirs. We fully deserved what we got in the second half, shows what keeping the ball on the ground/low can do. The balance of the team looks great now, with Long and Murphy dangerous down the wings, Rook and Whitnell linking well and Avery and Stubbs battling well in the middle of the park. Looking forward to the rest of the season

marksandwell
Well done lads great come back, thought you had the best of both halves... Sorry to hear about negative comments from someone in crowd, It certainly doesn't come from the choir or the rest of us who stand behind the goal...I can only assume it's someone who will moan at anything or everything.
