FA Challenge Cup (with Budweiser) 2012/21013

Recommended Posts

A really nice e mail from Redbridge below.

Hi Gents

Just a quick email to say that while I am a bit upset we are out of the FA Cup this year (and even more upset at the result!!!) I wish you all the best in this year's FA Cup and hope you go as far as you can in the competition. A good run in the FA Vase is also something I hope you achieve. I also wish you well in the league and hope you get promoted into the 4th tier as you deserve to be playing in a higher level.

Everything about your club is noteworthy - tidy ground, lovely pitch, nice clubhouse, nice facilities and also a very friendly committee and supporters. Its clubs like yours that keep my faith in football at a time when I have become disillusioned with the professional game.

Regards

Yes, that's a mouth watering thought and two of those are likely to be drawn together, when was the last time a SSML Club reached the 3rd Qulifying Round

On what evidence do you base your assumption that two SSML clubs are "likely" to be drawn together in the second qualifying round? At that stage of the competition, a fresh set of regional groups is drawn up along a North / Midlands / South basis, rather than the North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West arrangement used for the first three rounds.

Beano - Rhodes and evidence don't go together.

I am aware of thi

Beano - Rhodes and evidence don't go together.

I am aware of this, ETID but I'm not above playing "Devil's Advocate" from time to time, especially if it involves deploying the old troll repellent. And, judging by some of the reactions he gets on here, it seems there are some that would use both "troll" and "repellent" when describing Rhodes.

The fact is, in an open draw, it's no more likely that two SSML clubs would be drawn together than any other pairing.

I see that former Tokyngton Manor stalwart Stuart Farrell played for Uxbridge yesterday and was instrumental in the fight back:

AFC Dunstable 5 Redbridge 0

Don't want to sound boastful but who thinks our result was the shock of the day.

Redbridge made the 2nd Round Proper last season and apparently picked up £74,000 in the process.

E'r Craig, speaking as a fellow afc I can tell u boastful is exactly how it comes across, not to mention smug and conceited. Best let others sing our praises, otherwise what friends we have on this forum will quickly disappear. Remember there are many who support teams who are already out of the competition, and will be quick to remind you of your smugness at the next opportunity, which could realistically be when London lions, who have beaten a very strong prem team, knock us out in the next round. Humility rules ok!
