Cookie
Wasn't there today but we have shifted 5 goals in our last two games & from being a very solid unit, from what I've seen previously & thinking we would accumulate more clean sheets than last season, seems things are getting back to old ways & goals conceded have re-emerged. On the positive side we are scoring goals & winning points albeit in one's but that defence needs to hold up better. Lowestoft will have a field day on Monday unless we can sort out the back-line. Unbeaten we may be but we could have had 3 wins under our belt were it not for slack defending. Letting in goals is in the main, slack defending, naivety & lack of concentration. Needs sorting! Am very disappointed to have seen us only come away today with just a point having held a two goal advantage, not once but twice.
michael
similarly not there, but where i have witnessed this on a few occasions-its not so much the defence imo-its that we are consistently outnumbered in central midfield, don't retain enough possession ( i am not unrealistic and realise that a 'passing game' is not for the ryman-but we should be able to 'keep the ball' a bit more than we do ),therefore the defence is always under more pressure than it need be. If we had just 10% more possession, then maybe that would 'buy' 5 minutes extra breathing space enabling the defence to get concentration up and re-shape. it may not have been the case today-but it has on quite a few previous occasions
I am Spartacus
Well I have been at both matches and I do not think it is all the defences fault. Give some credit to the opposing forwards.
Coffin Ender
Great game today and a fair result overall. This season is going to be very entertaining.

Roseyboy
I had this as a loss before te game... If we draw tough away matches (and win the return fixture more often than) we will get promoted... A good away point..

Vinegar
Thoroughly enjoyable game. Fair result and a great advert for Ryman football.
Dutch_Mike
Defence starts from the front, so to lay the blame entirely on the defenders is a bit harsh in my opinion. Although obviously disappointed to lose a 2-goal margin, it was no doubt a fair result. First half we played some superb attacking football, really troubling their defence every time we went forward. Simply put, in the second half, they were much better than us, and it only looked a matter of time before they equalised. I think CK is right in that not many teams will get maximum points there this season, so a point is not a bad result. The one disappointing thing, for me, is that at least one (possibly 2, my memory is getting bad in my old age) goal came from a setpiece - I'd like to think we'd be able to defend them better, as a team. wade
I think it was three from set pieces - 2 from corners (one headed back across goal from far post) and one free kick). Incredible first 45 minutes some of best football from Margate I have seen. As for second 45....... Credit to Kingstonians they came out second half and upped their game. Some half time talk but we caused ourselves problems by conceding early in second half and from there on we were on back foot.

michael
Am i right to assume that starkey was injured ? Did corneille therefore play at right back ? and if so-did that further weaken central midfield-where i thought corneille was doing really well this season could alaile have played at right back enabling corneille to stay in midfield ?
