Chase Side Towner
That was an absolute disgrace. 1-0 up and they are down to 10 men and we still lose 3 goals. Tell me , what other teams have you ever seen this happen to? Last season in midfield we had Rudi and Brian; the latter coming on in the second half. We need players who can put their foot on the ball and dictate the game. Too many in our ranks who don't want to take responsibility. Some players are just not up to this; I will not apologise for saying this but Barker again was left wanting at left back at times. Taken off when management only realised they were playing with one up front. WTF!!!!

Tom S
We don't have a player called Barker. We do have a Barber, however. Do him the honour of getting his name right when slagging him off.

Pretty Vacant
No, I agree, never liked Barker, whoever he is. Totally anonymous today, as was Corbett. I think there should be a touch of realism here. By all means be expectant, but we were playing against a team who are second favourites for the league and have a huge wage bill. They were also very good. Any team can lose against ten men, and the lengthy injury break disrupted the pattern of play severely. It was a bad day at the office, but six points from our first three games is a very good return, given the respective opposition. As they say, there are more important things in life than football occasionally. Does anyone know how the lad who was taken to hospital is faring? Mr Happy
This was a game that, given the circumstances after the second half delay, we should have won. However, on the positive side, we created a lot of chances and, at times, our passing was excellent. If it hadn't been for their excellent keeper we would have won this game. We have just gone up to this level and it will take time to adjust. 6 points from 9 would have been welcomed before the season commenced. It was also great to see us taking more shots from range. "A DISGRACE" - we've played three games and got six points so far which is a good return in our debut season at Ryman Premier level. We were never going to win every game this season!!!!! Whitehawk are a good side and deserved the win in the end but it could of been a vastly different game had Liam's great effort not hit the bar in the 1st half and in the 2nd half we played some good stuff...much better than on Tuesday night. I think the main thing is that the two Whitehawk players whom were injured are okay. I am trying to find out how they are and will update on here if I find anything out. Chase Side Towner
Apologies Tom S, I used to play with a really dodgy full back with a surname of Barker several years ago. Still better than the one at left back today though. The Whitehawk lad is fine from what his team-mates said after the game in the bar. Glad to hear that as it was very, very nasty collision. They played with 10 men for about 55 mins after we went 1 up. We should be keeping the ball and making them chase the game. Let me say: no side should ever lose a game when 1-0 up and playing against 10 men - never. The only reason we were better than Tuesday night is because we had some time on the ball due to Whitehawk being down a man. Suggesting otherwise is extreme naivety. I'm chuffed we have 6 points from 9, but we need to take control of games like this one today, and make sure it becomes a boring 1-0 win when the opposition go down to 10 men. OldTowner
Not sure we need 10 or so games to find out if last seasons squad is up to this level. Most supporters would agree on a few who do not look comfortable after 3 outings. You make your own list. Having said that some of these posts are a bit OTT after just 3 games where we have been somewhat lucky to have gained 2 wins, but wins there were. All three teams have been organised and fast on the break, but most of all they all know how to defend in numbers and always have 2 or 3 defenders supporting each other which makes it difficult to beat. Certainly a lone striker has no chance. Against Whitehawk everyone slated Barber, but he had no cover or support, something that did not happen when their dodgy 14 had to mark Campbell. Food for thought. I hope Steve notes the frustration of the supporters and brings in a couple of players with Premier experience to assist the current squad. Next 2 league games will be just as difficult.
