Fat Tom Daley
All, On Saturday (Salisbury) there was talk about putting a local charity on the front of the shirt. We suggested that people put money in (as much as they want which goes to the club), then this pays for a local kids charity to be put on the front of the shirt with buckets at each home game and fundraising events run with some of the bar takings going to the charity. This we felt would bring much needed cash to the club as well as raising the clubs profile within the local community. What do people think? kimbles left foot
If we get enough numbers it could be worthwhile mate
Eastside Urchin
Think we need to wait for the club to confirm there's no sponsor yet
Fat Tom Daley
If we are selling the home kit I presume that they haven't found one then?
Eastside Urchin
I am sure they are still actively looking, best for us to speak to the club about it saturday. When we spoke about it last saturday it seems a good idea but it needs good numbers, all putting in,I would say at least £50 each
Fat Tom Daley
As I am not there on Saturday can someone ask for me? I am sure they are Rob. But a potential sponsor isn't going to be happy if supporters kit doesn't have their sponsor on
Eastside Urchin
Its in the clubs hands not ours, let's not get ahead of ourselves, they own the club not us,I am sure they have it under control, sponsor or not
Fat Tom Daley
Once again I agree. But it's worth a suggestion to bring funds into the club and raising our profile within the local community . By raising our profile, showing this kind gesture, it could potentially attract businesses who would sponsor this club as they will be associated with the a club which helps a children's charity. If we are being honest, we are still tarnished from what happened in the previous regime with local businesses. We need to build a good reputation (like Lewes have done by having a charity on the back of their shirt since the fans took over)
Eastside Urchin
Yes and its a fantastic idea but we don't run the club, someone else does and they must decide the best course of action. Burf is trying to get sponsors for the club and he has just got back from a 2 week holiday so he may of found someone,if not we will put it to the club. If anyone wanted to pledge an amount for this in confidence then they can PM,it could help our cause if they did so,so we can go to the club and say we think it will work. As for charities,we spoke about various ones, nothing was decided as if it was kids or not, think we need to think properly about this, maybe a fan or someone family member are struggling/struggled even passed away and we can help
Fat Tom Daley
Fair enough....even if the club have found a shirt sponsor I still do think it would be a good idea to maybe put it on the back of the shirt. If the club do want to go ahead with this, I think a fans meeting would be needed to chose a sponsor and outline what would happen
