Loose
I remember reading her article on the Government's trade figures which was asking why "things weren't adding up" if the figures were so great they weren't being reflected elsewhere in the economy. That was the gist, what the actual content was escapes me now. Sounds like IDS has been sent out to rubbish her plus BBC. It's always a bit worrying when the Tories feel they have to send out their poodle to savage the journos.
piper
No he doesn't .......................The Media will always hype up failings of any government stronger than its good work because that creates debate, which in the long term sells papers or in the BBC case increases viewing figures of the news. Both labour and the Tories have made huge blunders while in office over the past 5 or so years and the media as a whole have capitalised. Labour Promised the world, gave it to us and screwed the economy and the tories promised the world to get into office and didnt give it to us. This is how they have been for decades. If not in the next election but for sure the following one we will all be sick of the tories and vote for change coz labour promise us the world again and then 10 years of labour making everyone better off they will screw us again and we will vote back the tories cause they promise us everything at no cost then when they are in they will close down services and claw back all labour gave us til we hate them enough to vote labour again. The point i make is that the media always seem to be more critical to the power in office because the nature of the decisions that are made by those with power sell what the media are selling
missunderstood
Political parties of all persuasions have always tried to compromise the BBC's impartiality, usually by using threats of budget cuts. The questioning of the governments financial competence is what the journalist get paid for, and long may it continue.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Hmmm, but is the BBC really impartial? It does seem to go easier on the likes of Labour, Plaid Cymru and the SNP than it does on the Conservatives and UKIP. Then again, that is just my perception from watching political interviews on the BBC and David Dimbleby on Question Time.

Question Time used to be essential viewing for me, but these days they seem to invite to many celebrities and the political insane to be taken seriously. My own personal experience of talking to UKIP is they are a bunch of little Englander nutters, but as they take the majority of their votes from the Tories they are a welcome addition to the political scene IMO. On the first part,I'd agree totally. Plus Dimbleby rudely interrupts his guests - shows poor manners and ineffective chairmanship as far as I am concerned. On the UKIP part, despite being a UKIP voter I do agree that some of the people in the party are somewhat 'over-protectionist'. That said, when Labour and Conservative Governments have screwed this country for every last penny, can you blame people for being that way? Besides, without UKIP, you'd have an out-of-control Nasty Nick Griffin

Thankfully IDS was never Prime Minister, but he does appear to have a chip on his shoulder.
