Lewes vs Enfield Town

a nice report here from Ian King of twohundredpercent.

An excellent report as a lot of his writing is at times. Trying to work out what he means in the 4th para down

but in the bright sunshine Lewes fail to click together as a team whilst Enfield, while limited in some respects, push forward with increasing effectiveness as the half wears on, and with six minutes to play of the half when a low cross from the right-hand side is threaded through the eye of a needle by Mark Kirby to bring the visitors level. The half ends with the two sides level, but with the newly-promoted away side looking the better co-ordinated of the two.

Any ideas? Physicality?

Also, looking at the Lewes forum, came across a far more balanced view of things (1st post top of page 2):

This is the first chance I've had to get to the site since the game, and I have to say that I'm amazed by some of the comments on here. The idea that our players lacked effort after a closely fought energy-sapping 90-plus minutes in sweltering heat beggars belief. In my view we'd have been good value for a 2-1 win against a team which I reckon will be comfortably in the top half if last season's standard is anything to go by, and we should therefore be up there, too.

Someone who reckons we'll be top half compared to what he saw of last season's teams in the Premier. I saw quite a few Premier teams last season, including the play-off final. We're a great passing team and can easily match the more established teams in that respect. My only concerns are when pitches resemble potato fields (Aveley for one, thank Christ they got relegated), and more physical sides as I've alluded to above.

Anyway, roll on tomorrow, let's hope for a big crowd at the Donkey Dome.

Kirby!! Fat centre back!!!?? The same fat centre back who ran a marathon last year in under 4 hours!!!!!! What twat wrote that???!!

Kirby is a little fatty to be fair but still a decent player at this level.

Thanks, Papa

No, Kirbs is actually 'big-boned' - there's not a gram of fat on him. Fact.

Lol agreed. Bet our Fatty is looking forward to curry night tonight almost as much as I am.

My score prediction is 6-0 Towners tonight. Should be a walk in the park but just want the 3 points.
