Mr Rebel
not bad at all to come away with a comfortable 5-0 win against an ok Northwood side. their defence really let them down as they did have glimpses of chances. a couple of last ditch tackles at times but generally little created from the away side. 1 important Warrington save early on at 0-0 far too easy for us to get the goals. time will tell if it was good play and pressure from us or just that Northwoods defence were just hopeless feel we have room for improvement which is very promising seeing as we won 5-0 one of the best things i thought was how when we got in on goal there was a lot of unselfish play to make sure the chance was put away rather than greedily snatching at and wasting the chance as we have done a lot previously Logie prob MoM for me. harassing and looking to regain possession high up the pitch. exactly what we need him to do
A Rebel and a Saint
It's a dream start against a team I was expecting more from. We didn't really have to try too hard in the end, overall a very good performance, I was impressed with the whole team. I do agree that Logie looked good, in the midfield but Burgess also made a huge impact when he came on. Top of the league, now let's see if we can stay there. COYR! Sir Rebel1965
Top of the league on goal difference. Our gate was more than twice that of any other team in this league and would have been 5th in the one above. Northwood were a good side going forward but struggled at the back. We were solid all round and had some great finishing for the goals. No bookings.

brighton_rebel
Good to see you today Dave and hope it all goes well. That was a funny old 5-0. Northwood seemed to be getting on top end of the first half/beginning of the second, we score again and they go to pieces. Great we had 4 different goalscorers and no bookings and very impressed with players fitness in that heat. Fantastic way to start the season. HorshamRebel
Great result especially in that heat. It just goes to show the fitness level that Fred is instilling into the players. It was really enjoyable to relive the game when editing the photos

Don Juan DeMarcus
It looked very good few bobbles goal mouth stand end but swiftly has done a superb job!
Ted
Lots of positives, though 5-0 did flatter us a little. No moaning and argueing, no bookings, we hustled well in midfield, looked fit, Sonner and Burnell worked well together. The less positives? Allowed too much room for Northwood to shoot from just outside the box, and the defence tended to ignore Warrington's calls. Great start, but lets not forget it was the league's bottom side we beat
readingrebel
Agree with Ted, we did allow Northwood far too much time to have a shot from just outside the area and on another day we could have been made to pay. Other than that it was a good performance, especially second half, without really getting out of second gear. Well done to the team, great start to the season, COYR! Martin
Excellent performance in really tough conditions. We were very clinical and we've seen in recent years how important it can be to rack up big scores. Very impressed with the Denneys. Good stuff boys. 3spirit
Agree with Mr Rebel's summing up of the game on this thread.Thought Adam Logie was excellent yesterday and played with more freedom with Dave Deeney than he ever seemed to get with Paul Coyne. I'm hoping Adam will weigh in with a few goals this year from midfield. Didn't think Dominic Rhone seemed at ease with his midfield position and seemed unsure where to go[very much like he was at Chesham].He improved when he was pushed up in a front three, late in the 2nd half.Thought SB would have subbed Rhone for Stuart Swift rather than the hard-working Danny Murphy. Not criticisms just observations.Thought we were the better team on the day and pleasingly the fitter side on a boiling hot day.Couldn't ask for a better result to an opening league fixture. grandad
Good all round team performance, but at half time could not see that result coming. Northwood created at least two of our goals with gifts, but we still had to put them away. Logie MOM, he was everywhere. Sonner was totally selfless in setting up two goals. Candidate for goal of season must be Olly's first touch goal, whereas miss of season must be Ben's header two yards out that last seen was still going to Oxford on the motorway! Good to see him make amnds soon after though.
Ian
To everyone suggesting we don't get too carried away with this win, remember that the first time we lose! We aren't world beaters on the strength of this win and we wont be a pub team if we lose one.
Windsor Rebel
Superb start to the season. Felt a bit sorry for the players in that heat though, I was boiing up just watching. One questiion for our forum armchair managers though: do we need a big striker? On that evidence I dont think so. Watch this space.
