Feel sorry for the referee's on the next games who tell the teams they have to use the correct tape....they will then be told they are just been a pain..the teams will already disliking him/her,,,,,.but its an FA rule....so lets all us referees do as we have been told...makes life easier for us and the teams....on saturday at Eastleigh...i mentioned it when the team sheets were presented...and the clubs both said...the league advised us off the rule therefore we would be daft not to get it right on the first game!!! maybe the CCL didnt advise the clubs or the referees like the Suburban FL did!!! we had an email from the referees manager, and also were advised that if an league official at a game see's it not been applied,,,they are to advise him...!!!!

Not saying it cant.and i do think the rule is daft..but.its there and should be put into place..i replied first before the post regarding the kit so therefore commonsense was used...but how many colours were been worn!!!! not just the two...i saw a least 4.so if they had the right kit it would still have been wrong......and as stated the blue kit could be advised the wrong colour!!!! Also just seen the photos from another game and wrong tape used in that!!!! so is the kit wrong in that one as well...all teams should have sorted this out ages ago...its been talked about enough!!!

but i bet the next referee who says they cant use the wrong colour tape will be stated by you!!!! but all the referee is doing is what the FA have advised..

It would be careless unless they had looked at the CCL OFFICIAL Website for their information regarding Mole Valleys Colours which states Red Shirt,Red Shorts,Red Socks, but if they had they would never of gone to the right ground,as they are still listed as playing near Leatherhead.NOW THAT IS A MESS TONY.See rather than stay stum, you will blame this Ref,for using a bit of common sense.I APPLAUD HIM.

Interesting Sock Tape worn in this game, but could not see a clash.

Unfortunately Lammas turned up in blue, and as our home kit this season is blue they needed to change.

With no spare kit on them, as you would expect, Cobham very kindly provided them with one of their kits - Lammas had the blue tape for the blue kit, but obviously nothing for a red kit.

Given that the options were a) play the game with red tape, b ) postpone game, Lammas get fined - everything gets messy - I think the referee showed common sense and got the game played.

I know some may feel he should have adherred strictly to the tape colour coding, but right decision in my book (although just have an argument with one of the lads on facebook regarding our tape which is the wrong shade of blue compared to our socks)

Edited to remove random smiley that appeared.

Ridiculous. Surely the game should have been postponed. I expect all the punters that turned up would have happily understood without grumble once it was explained to them that Lammas didn't carry spare red tape with them on the off chance they might need it. After all, we spectators all fully understand how this is the most important problem blighting the sport right now.

I'm sure Mole Valley did inform Staines Lammas about the kit but it doesn't always happen. When I was a secretary for a Suburban League side I was sometimes lucky to get any match confirmation let alone one which confirmed kit colours and ground info!

Anyway, I look forward to next season when FIFA's next rule comes in. To help officials judge who headed a ball last they will insist on all teams being either blonde, brunette or ginger. In the case of a clash, the away side will have to arrive fully shaved.

and please advise me where i have said that things are always done right in the SFL!!!! there are always problems,,,all the league officials in both leagues can do is try to advise all clubs what should be done!!! It is a league rule in the Suburban FL that the home club should give details of the game to the away team...if clubs dont advise that this is not been done...how can the league make sure it is...also i think you will find its an FA rule to advise the details...
