Oh dear, poor Tommo. That'll come down with ice on it.

If England's Rugby union team need a new goal-kicker for their autumn series, I think we've found a successor to Jonny Wilkinson!

Was so bad...to be fair I blame the groundsman lol. Placed the ball on the edge of the spot, to keep out the penalty spot divet. Ref ensured the ball was placed on the actual spot itself. Which in fact, was in a hole! Lol. But even that doesn't warrant how bad a miss it was!

Popped down for this one - sizeable crowd (150+ ish - didn't really count?) - nice gaggle of local youngsters made lots of noise for us old farts to sneer at! :D

- someone should have briefed them on the proper nickname for the home team though.

Thought the 'Fizzers' hung on in there against some very quick and strong forward play. Kept it together far better than they had in the Cup the previous Friday.

All got a tad niggly 2nd half with a few 'late slides' going on - think Cove (somewhat justifiably) had really got the nark on for the officials - the Sandhurst forward who broke clear for the leveller looked about 2-3 yds offside as the move developed.

....oddly enough it was a home player that picked up a Red late on.

Impressed with Cove especially down the right and the big No 9 looked a real handful - actually thought the brief switch in Central Defence to put the No 4 on him, looked a safer bet; as he wasn't so prone to dive in nor get too close and get muscled off and turned as the No 5 had been?

Lots of afters on 90' too by the looks of it - but I was nipping as far across the Rec. as I could get after the final whistle - afore they turned the lights out - hadn't got very far !

Hope Cove can play as forcefully next Tue when they host Guernsey - might well have a dash at that one - but need to get there early enough to find a decent parking spot too I'd expect?

PS Did I hear the announcement at the end correctly? : the midweek game at Baddy Lea is postponed cos a home players' brother has been 're-patriated' - no disrespect & I don't want to appear insensitive - obviously I have no conception of how traumatic that might be - but they're not just trying to get an extra day off before their own Cup tie on Friday are they?

Would care to point out Royals for your disrespectful comment, that Badshot Lea player Brad Smith's brother has sadly passed out away in Afgahnistan whilst serving for this country. Which by the way, most in this forum wouldn't have the bollox to do!!! ( apart from ace1 ) so when you drag yourself out of your pit this morning and make yourself a cup of tea, have a little thought about your ridiculous comment!! Don't forget, it's these kind of hero's that are the reasons we are still speaking English!! RIP Crouchie

... huge humble apologies all round - as I tried to say in my post I hadn't heard - and evidently NOT understood - the announcement correctly and the word I thought I heard being used was 'repatriated' and this threw me completely - I'd assumed that someone living here was being sent BACK to Afghanistan as per what I thought the word meant:

re·pa·tri·ate To restore or return to the country of birth, citizenship, or origin: repatriate war refugees.

... indeed also has the meaning : send someone back to his homeland against his will, as of refugees

... and obviously NOT knowing the actual circumstances I thought I'd try and query it - hindsight is wonderful the next morning as the actions taken by the club concerned make it GLARINGLY OBVIOUS that something more fundamentally tragic had occured and that I had totally misconstrued the situation..

Will impose a lengthy self-ban forthwith and am genuinely deeply mortified to have inadvertently offended anyone.

What an utter w@nker Royals

Minutes silence at Upton Park today as well

Mentioned and family there but no minutes silence NLN. Such a sad thing that happened and thoughts to his family. I am sure Royals is genuine in his post.

Regarding the above, my condolences to family and friends.

Brings things really into focus when people moan on hear about certain aspects of football.
