So how would you get Julian Assange out of the Ecuador embassy?

Usually I disagree with him, but on this occasion, spot on.

Did you actually take the trouble to read what Galloway said Ralph? If someone has consensual sex once thats OK, it doesn't though give that person any rights whatsoever to have multiple sex, and unless the person in question consents then surely it must be rape.

Sorry for being personal, but I am now wondering what century you come from, and the thoughts of Galoway seem to be an incitement to rape any poor woman that has already had a sexual relationship with someone.

I only hope there's grounds for prosecuting this lunatic, who incredibly gets handsomely paid by the British taxpayer.

Maybe I read somethign different.

On the BBC it says

George Galloway has insisted he regards non-consensual sex as rape but says he stands by controversial comments made about sex assault allegations facing Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

The Respect MP was criticised after speculating that Mr Assange was guilty merely of "bad sexual etiquette".

Other MPs urged him to apologise for the "irresponsible" remarks.

Mr Galloway said "no never means yes" but the Assange allegations were "not rape as most people understand it".

Wikileaks founder Mr Assange has denied allegations of assault made by two women in Sweden in 2010, arguing both agreed to have sex with him.

In a podcast on Monday, Mr Galloway created a storm by suggesting that one of the women concerned had consensual sex with Mr Assange and then "woke up to him having sex with her again" - arguing that this did not constitute rape.

"Not everybody needs to be asked prior to each insertion," he said.

He added: "It might be really bad manners not to have tapped her on the shoulder and said, 'do you mind if I do it again?' It might be...bad sexual etiquette, but whatever else it is, it is not rape or you bankrupt the term rape of all meaning."

Mr Galloway, who is travelling in Indonesia, has not responded to BBC requests for an interview but he issued a statement on Tuesday, saying he was "happy to clarify" his remarks.

"No never means yes and non-consensual sex is rape. There's no doubt about it and that has always been my position," he said.

But he added the Assange case had "all the hallmarks of a set-up".

"I don't believe, from what we know, that the Director of Public Prosecutions would sanction a prosecution in Britain," he added.

"What occurred is not rape as most people understand it. And it's important to note that the two women involved did not initially claim it."

Yes, Gorgeous George is very much a man of the World and despite what people might think of him he knows his onions

And he is also an m.p. in a predominently moslem community, where the man expects to be master!

I predict the start of World War Three! South America unites in revenge attack on USA after violation of Ecuadoran Embassy by gung ho yanks! Argentina takes opportunity to take the Falklands. Three hundred Starbucks throughout South America ransacked. Chinese

back Ecuador and Brits try to take back Falklands until Chile and Peru join Argentina in defending Las Malvinas. Paraguay declares itself neutral but insists that Macdonalds and Starbucks may legitimately be nationalised.

Kazahkstan and Indonesia threaten to join conflict unless UK give up claim to Las Malvinas (and Scotland). France unilaterally declare French as official international language, and Italy and Greece carry on as normal!

This is brilliant!

I could foresee Wales being sold off as well, then England launches a H-Bomb on Brussels to get them out of Europe.

As we're heading to hell in a hand-cart, Keith Lemon becomes Prime Minister and national suicide is proclaimed.

WE'RE DOOOOOOOMED MR. MAINWARING!

Apparently the Israeli Embassy in Dublin was evacuted due to a fire alarm activated due to a suspicious package. If the same happened here could the police legally nab Mr Assage outside the embassy?

The crate sounds like a good idea, but you'd need a lot of ice to stop body heat from being emitted.

Technically, YES....

BUT Britain would become the sh1ttiest country in the worlds eyes !

I admit to being far more pro-US than pro-Europe, but NOT when it comes to their trying to dictate over such matters as extradition, and their use of rendition.

Their C.I.A. makes our M.I.6 look like a kindagarten !

LATO - Who actually takes any notice of fire alarms these days, people just carry on with their work as unless you see or smell smoke it's obviously going to be a false alarm

I was a health and safety rep for years, and its carved in stone that people evacuate the building first and wait for an authorised person to declare the site safe before re entry. If you worked in a petroleum or gas environment like I did would you really wait until you could smell smoke before you got out? IMO anyone that ignores fire alarms should face instant dismissal because through their own stupidity they are putting the lives of firefighters and others at risk, when they have to enter buildings to evacuate these idiots.

I loved Lee Evans quip on his last visit to the 'Dome'

He said he popped outside for a breath of air after rehearsing and was standing in front of a door.

Security guard says, 'You can't stand there mate ! It's a fire exit. If there's a fire inside, everyone will come streaming out.'

Lee replied, 'If there's a fire in there, mate, I'll be running in front of 'em !!'
