McKenzie went close again, this time hitting the post with his shot and putting the rebound narrowly wide. With Jon Hunt, Andy Tomlinson and Joey May in command in midfield, Enfield rarely came into the match as an attacking force, and Hornchurch eventually went ahead when Joey May took the ball down the right side and although his cross was blocked, the ball rebounded for Jon Hunt to quickly play it back into the middle for AARON GAYLE to head powerfully home. Close to half time Enfield almost leveled when Neil Johnson put in a hard drive from thirty yards, only for Tim Pittman to make a diving save, tipping the ball over the bar for a corner. Enfield looked more confident in the second half and drew level after just two minutes when CRHIS PHILLIPSON headed home powerfully from a right wing cross. Pittman had to race out of goal to kick clear shortly afterwards, and then Hunt and Tomlinson took charge again in midfield, and the visiting goal came under steady pressure. After a series of corners, Hornchurch went in front when JON HUNT hammered the ball in from the right wing and although keeper James Chalk got a hand to the ball, he could not prevent it from entering the net. Andy Tomlinson almost increased the lead with a fine run on the left, and he turned inside the defender and his shot was turned around the post for a corner. Tomlinson took the kick and keeper Chalk made an excellent save from Paul Shave’s powerful header, tipping the ball over for another corner. Tomlinson swerved the ball over again and this time Billy Pearce came in from the far side to hammer the ball against the post. Hornchurch applied continuous pressure and forced three successive corners, and hit the post three times in a matter of minutes, but settled the match with a further goal when JUAN ONIEVA headed home from a right wing cross. Hornchurch "O"
Trust that's put the Ghost of the Friendlies to bed. Even Orient beat Charlton last night after a miserable set of Friendly results.

cup of tea
Sorry I couldn't make it last night - sounds like the game we needed before Saturday. Who's Juan Onieva? Has Michael Spencer signed on? Is Fola still on trial?

Hornchurch "O"
Everyone must be saving up for Saturday or was this not fully publicised?
Eastside Urchin
A few people I have spoken to seemed to not bother as it was viewed as a reserve team game even though it was stated otherwise.Whenever Enfield Town tweeted something on twitter it said reserves which probably scared their fans off.To be fair though,80 is probably about right for this time of year as your fairweather fan probably won't get too excited by a team a level below
YELLOW
Good young keeper was at Kelvedon hatch on loan last season. Going by google looks like he is a goalkeeping coach and has his own keeping schoool in Essex.
